I think I found out what causes it. whenever my vampires are traveling on water, after a few turns they lose their era damage buff. not 100% sure but has happened both times I travled on water

I see, thank you! I might have found a bug. They lost their era strength buff and never got it back. this was late game on online speed. was multiplayer game. any idea about this?

I believe they would be considered ancient era units. The healing probably stacks, and corps and armies are probably worth it as much as any other unit.

oh and another thing, are the vampire spawn from any era? do they benefit from any era unit production cost reduction policy cards?

Ahh yeah I have an idea what might be causing it, and if I'm right it would mean druids and bards both are affected

Hello! Is this mod still updated? I love how the vampire spawns were implemented and the flavor of Domains of Dread!

I encountered a bug with the Bard promotion where the culture on kills gets applied to ALL units, not just that one vampire. It might also be the case for the Druid and their faith on kills, but I haven't tested that out yet.

OK I subscribed, restarted game, checked to make sure mod was enabled and yet Vlad does not show as a possible leader. There was not Ravenloft map choice either. Help.

Is the era-dependent bonus for vampire spawn dependent on when you created the spawn? I have one game where the spawn had +10 era bonus during the Ancient Era, and another game where the spawn also had a +10 era bonus during the Classical Era (but I may have created that spawn later than the first game)

Why do some vampires attack from a distance and others don't?
great mod, I just started the game but I noticed that with three units that I built in the same era.
some give the option of ranged attack and another only melee.

Hm, even in the classical era entering combat the combat strength doesn't change...maybe it's a mod incompatibility? Are there any known issues?

Can the Vampire Spawn gain experience. because so far I have killed quite a few units with it and it won't level up for me to promote and the experience isn't going up.

Aye, the bugged relic is gone and Vampire Spawn production cost scales with era. I figured they were not intended to be that cheap for the entire game ;)

Are there DLC requirements not mentioned in the mod page? Tried installing on a non-modded game and it kept throwing error. I have Ethiopia Pack, Babylon Pack, and R&F and GS.

Or maybe its not compatible with Mac?

The relic was not fully tested and I forgot to remove it. I'm going to do some more testing and hopefully resolve that issue over the weekend.

Did you add relics? I earned one that apparently was not named properly, it showed a long string of capitalized words and underscores, something like Icon of Ravenloft, and now I can't open the Great Works screen ^^

The Vampire Spawns are a lovely offensive unit. Couple of comments:
1) They don't cost population in a city with Magnus & Provision promotion. Probably intentional.
2) Over the course of the game they get stronger - but apparently only when attacking ("+80 from player era" as a bonus). At full health Vampire Spawn Armies get one-shot by all enemy units or city strikes when defending, but easily defeat even Modern Armour Armies when attacking.
3) They don't get more expensive over the course of the game. They are still 100 Production / 200 Faith in the late game. I buy 2 Armies in Magnus's city every turn.
-> They are immensely powerful glass cannons and dirt-cheap.

Then again, they could spend the first three eras in a dark age, and have an extra 3 slots to slot golden cards in for a big recovery play.

Probably not balanced for dramatic ages mode. The power of gaining a wildcard policy slot for every dark age visited is severely offset by losing your cities when entering a dark age. I can see this working out in the early game when you're still only on city #1 upon the first dark age, but on Deity difficulty, you can lose up to 40% of your cities to a dark age. When you have over half the world conquered, it's just not worth it.

Very neat! However, there is a contradiction in the play style here. If you can always use Dark Age policies, that kind of goes against the unique benefit of gaining a wildcard policy slot whenever you enter a Dark Age. I would maybe modify the ability so that your cities exert regular loyalty pressure during a dark age rather than reduced loyalty.
