Seems to work fine in 1.6. Great mod for playthroughs with fast aging settings.

shameless copy and paste - Could you add compatibility for Vanilla Races Expanded - Insector? Specifically to allow insector mom to recover faster from self impregnation
colocota Oct 13, 2024 @ 8:33am
each quadrum is 15 days so something like ~45 days shuld do

Real human pregnancy is 9 months, which equates to 3 quadrums in Rimworld. What should I set the slider to for that?
Maconhista Jul 27, 2024 @ 9:13pm
i want a mod to prevent pregnancy!

@Brother-Toaster you need the XML Extensions mod. Afterwards you can edit it by clicking the Plus icon next to mod options instead of in the regular mod options menu.
Brother-Toaster Oct 22, 2023 @ 1:20am
Doesn't generate a config menu for me to adjust the values. Am i doing something wrong?
Elgate Oct 5, 2023 @ 12:56pm
Would it be possible to make it compatible with Vanilla Races Expanded Phytokins? Babies still take the full duration for birth. For a generation like playthrough, this make plant babies gestation incredibly long.
Sylphienne Sep 26, 2023 @ 5:55pm
Pregnancy doesn't progress after set desirable days, my pawns stay on first trimester for a long time.
Skaadi Aug 31, 2023 @ 2:07pm
Would it be somehow possible to do this per xenotype? Via gene (I.e. 25%, 50%, 75% faster pregnancies) or in some other way?

I've been looking for a way to have individual xenotypes with individual gestation times but found nothing so far to make it possible.

Not sure how big an ask this is, but can you add adjustable settings for the postpartum hediff as well?
DwarfMurdered Jul 29, 2023 @ 6:04pm
There's some kind of incompatibility in my 300+ mod list with this such that I need to place this mod at the end to ensure it does the final alteration to the game just so you know. So there's something out there that's fairly popular that can cause issues, maybe one of the prosthetics mods, I don't know. It would take a long time to determine which mod was the issue.

@OddHornedNinja Thank you for doing the initial testing. I did some tests for 1 day lactating periods and there doesn't seem to be much issues recharging for daily feeding.

I added some settings to adjust the Lacating hediff decay just in case you wanted to change up the values for future runs.
OddHornedNinja Mar 10, 2023 @ 10:08am
It seems to work fine, I have it at .25 and it only stops 4 days after like intended, All in all thanks for explaining what the changes would do.
OddHornedNinja Mar 7, 2023 @ 4:42pm
I am willing to be a guinea pig next time I play. I'll let you know if I can figure anything out to help out
Daysleep  [author] Mar 7, 2023 @ 12:54am
@OddHornedNinja Yeah, I was looking at the Hediff for lactating yesterday, but there's a few things associated with lactating that I'm unsure of.

It seems like lactating starts at 1 severity and decreases by 0.1/day. Which is how we get the 10 days. However, there appears to be some kind of charge linked with breastfeeding.
Changing the severityPerDay could lead to unexpected behavior.

If you want to test it out. You could change severityPerDay to be higher for a shorter breastfeeding timer.

Just in case you don't want to do the math:

-0.2 = 5 days
-0.25 = 4 days
-0.33 = 3 days
-0.5 = 2 days

@Daysleep I think I found the section for lactating? I don't really know much about modding so i don't know if it is what you where looking for but from what little I understood it has stuff about stopping due to malnutrition and other stuff relating to it. Its in Hediffs_Global_Misc under Lactating, sorry if this is no help.

@OddHornedNinja @Risk I tried to look for the Defs to change for breastfeeding and growth vats, but couldn't find any.

@Zastaver I haven't tried other race mods with this, so I'm not sure.
Risk Mar 4, 2023 @ 6:09pm
would there be a way to add thr option to modify growth vat births?
Zastaver Jan 10, 2023 @ 1:58pm
do dose anyone know if this works for other race mods?
OddHornedNinja Dec 8, 2022 @ 10:34pm
Would a option be possible to change breast feed be possible? When your on a faster aging colony it can be a bit of a pain.
Matthias98 Nov 7, 2022 @ 8:11pm
Thank you
Daysleep  [author] Nov 7, 2022 @ 6:16pm
Yeah, it's strange they let you change the aging speed but not this.

From the opening screen, you click "Options". At the bottom you see "Mod options", click the "+" next to it. There, you should see "Human Pregnancy Duration" around the left side.
Matthias98 Nov 7, 2022 @ 5:28pm
Where do I go in game to change this setting? I've check custom storyteller settings or is it somewhere else?
Matthias98 Nov 7, 2022 @ 5:03pm
Sweet 18 days seemed too short so the ability to make it longer is nice. Surprised the dlc didn't allow you to modify that with a scroll bar.
Mattatatta Nov 3, 2022 @ 6:49am
Just what I was looking for. Taking their already speedy 30d gestation period and making it 18d didn't sit right with me. I'm gonna set it to 45d for my longer games
Daysleep  [author] Nov 2, 2022 @ 11:25am
Sorry, I don't have plans to add xenogenes affecting duration at the moment.

Thank you all for using the mod! I like that it's being used both for longer and shorter pregnancies. I'm currently using it for my 15x aging run.
Vororo Nov 2, 2022 @ 10:44am
Neat, was looking just for this. Any chances these settings could be added as xenogenes? (Faster/slower pregnancy)
Princess Donut Nov 1, 2022 @ 7:31pm
Thanks! I was just wishing for this because I started a tribal colony with the adults set at 400% aging to match the kids and I realized that 18 days of pregnancy means those poor women are pregnant for over a year! (Yikes.)
d_valroth Oct 28, 2022 @ 2:01pm
Thank you. Rimworld already has a drastically accelerated timescale these days, didn't see why pregnancy needed to be accelerated even more on top of that.
