@DeZeeuw2: Currently I am busy with other things but I will put it on the list!
DeZeeuw2 Aug 19 @ 7:30am
Any chance you could add a full set of walls (shallow roof pitch walls, window frames, door frames, etc) for the vanilla red barn walls (location_barn_01)?
melos_tiles  [author] Aug 17 @ 10:39am
@WolfeliuX: Not quite sure what you mean, if its because the mod doubled in size, then because both B41 and B42 are included, but have seperate folders with the same tiles. Its for convienience of my workflow.

It is a good reminder for me though to add a disclaimer on the page to warn of big file size.

Hi there I got a question, what happen if this mod is duplicating the Sprites? When I restart the server it take too much for this mod, im using it for Trelai World.

For those having issues with hosting a server, I found a comment on another thread that has worked for me:

Go to your server folder, open steamcmd folder, open steamcmd.exe and let it update. close it and copy these files from steamcmd to your Zomboid server folder and replace them.

steamclient.dll
steamclient64.dll
tier0_s.dll
tier0_s64.dll
vstdlib_s.dll
vstdlib_s64.dll

: Copied this over from Tryhonesty'sTiles Steam mod page and seemed to have worked for me. Give it a try might also help somebody in here. Specifically if your mods refuse to update when starting your server: :praisesun:

To those blaming melos, i dont think its this mod. Im hosting a server that doesnt have melos tiles on it, and we are experiencing the same issue.
i think the timing of it all is just a coincidence
melos_tiles  [author] Aug 6 @ 7:02am
@danieL: Happy to hear that! Thanks for the info.
danieL Aug 6 @ 3:45am
@melos: Thank you, I have since changed providers and this fixed the issue.
melos_tiles  [author] Aug 5 @ 7:14am
I can't help there since I have no knowledge on how servers work. Also it might be better to discuss this here openly so others could see it and tune in?
Lil Boogie Aug 5 @ 6:54am
I understand, however this seems to be a new rising issue after the radios were reverted. I would really like to at least shine some light on it so you can understand what we are experiencing. This is unrelated to the steam API issue.
melos_tiles  [author] Aug 5 @ 6:46am
@Lil Boogie: Well the only thing that could potentially cause issues is the large size of the mod now, due to both B41 and B42 files now in it. There is not much I can do now.

All I know is that there was an issue with server hosters and steam updates in general.
Lil Boogie Aug 5 @ 6:30am
One of your latest updates is causing some sort of network flood on MP servers causing an eventual crash as more players are connected. It's almost as if the server is flooding itself as each player connects, to the point where it can't handle the bandwidth anymore. Could you add me back & I can explain the situation at hand? This is happening with more than just us as well, and we have proof.
melos_tiles  [author] Aug 5 @ 4:47am
@Comando: Good to know about the workshop mechanics. I guess in my case its not that bad, because the next update for this workshop item will be somewhat when B42 stable releases.

Have a good day!

@melos_tiles
Thanks a lot for your explanation! I actually did know about the separate branches for 41 and 42 inside one mod, but the issue I’ve noticed is that—even when nothing is changed in the B41 branch, and only B42 is updated—the mod on Workshop still requires an update for both versions.
I think it’s some internal Workshop mechanic: when the mod’s update date changes, Steam pushes the update for everyone, regardless of which branch was modified.

That’s why I originally thought about splitting it into two separate mods (one for 41, one for 42)—so that B41 servers wouldn’t need to update at all unless there were real changes for them.
But I get your point and it makes sense the way you have it set up!

Another small benefit would be the overall size of the mod, but that’s really just a cosmetic detail.
Anyway, thanks again for clarifying things, and good luck with all future updates!
melos_tiles  [author] Aug 5 @ 2:46am
@danieL: I guess in this case its an issue with some server hosters not recognizing updates of steam mods?
melos_tiles  [author] Aug 5 @ 2:45am
@Comando: Thanks for the comment, I actually thought about seperate mods long beforehand, but there is no need for that since both versions are seperate branches in the same mod tree.

In this case I intentionally changed files for both versions, first updating to B42 and then while after 6 months of no updates, I wanted to update some files of B41 too, but that didn't work out so well and I now know which files where wrong.

So when I make changes to B42 files in future, it will not interfer with B41 files of that same mod. This is how TIS set up the mod structure. Hope that clears something up.

Thanks for the kind words, too!

Hi All

Unfortunately this mod after latest update has stopped my primary supercraft.host server from restarting. Primary server still hanging 24hr later, 'Configuration change in progress'.

I raised a support ticket with supercraft to forcefully shutdown, however I may be required to wipe/start again.

On a second server, I removed this mod and it restarted successfully. After manually re-loading this mod isolation of others, secondary server has come back online.

I recommend you stop/kill server (don't restart) to avoid 'Configuration change in progress'. Remove this mod , restart, then manually re-load in isolation of others.

Any preventive action to mitigate future impact would be greatly appreciated.
Comando Aug 5 @ 1:51am
Hey! First of all, I just want to say I really appreciate all the work you put into your mods. I know it’s a lot of effort and we wouldn’t be able to enjoy the game nearly as much without people like you updating and maintaining everything—so thank you for that!

I do have a suggestion though, and maybe it would help not only server owners/players, but possibly you as well:
Would it be possible to keep two separate versions of your mod—one for Build 41 and one for Build 42?
That way, servers still running on 41 could stick with the older version, and anyone who wants to use Build 42 can switch to the updated one when it’s ready.

Maybe that would actually make things a bit easier for you too, since you wouldn’t have to worry about breaking support for one version every time you update the other.
Just a thought! Either way, thanks again for all your work—it’s really appreciated.
melos_tiles  [author] Aug 4 @ 1:20pm
@luliela: Thanks for the kind words. I still feel for everybody who got problems with this update, because of how massive the mod size is now. I am mostly a mapper and tilemaker and actually making a mod is not my main focus. Hope you can all still enjoy it after this hastle!
melos_tiles  [author] Aug 4 @ 1:18pm
@pocketmilk: Well... yep.
luliela Aug 4 @ 1:17pm
the time it takes people to restart their server to keep their heavily modded servers up to date is nothing compared to the amount of work it has taken you to provide everyone with the meatiest tilepack on the workshop for free. thank you for the hard work and reacting quickly when there was an issue
melos_tiles  [author] Aug 4 @ 1:17pm
Jesus @ I have to be sorry for this inconvenience. Hope everythings working now!
pocketmilk Aug 4 @ 1:11pm
happy melos day!
Jesus Aug 4 @ 1:07pm
@melos_tiles nvm, i just made a mistake sorry ! Thanks for ur reactivity again :steamhappy:
melos_tiles  [author] Aug 4 @ 1:02pm
@Jesus: My mod did not touch "Base.HandTorch" in any way, might be another mod?
melos_tiles  [author] Aug 4 @ 1:02pm
@Brook: No further updates intended, only if something is still broken for everybody. Since some confirmed the mod to be fixed, it should be clientside (unsubbing, resubbing)
melos_tiles  [author] Aug 4 @ 1:01pm
@Info: Might need unsub and resub, restart the game. Some players already confirmed it to be working here, lets se whats going on.
melos_tiles  [author] Aug 4 @ 1:00pm
@Cheetlius: Well, I updated the pack to be functional for B42 now, caused some issue, hence the few updates in a row. Should be good now, might need unsub and resub to the mod, restart the game.
Jesus Aug 4 @ 12:53pm
Yea same as the other, and we completly miss the item "Base.HandTorch" they don't ever exist on the server apparently (same on the admin side)
Brook Aug 4 @ 12:53pm
Are you going to send another update, or is this the final?
Info Aug 4 @ 12:52pm
@melos_tiles

Our server is still experiencing issues with your tiles appearing black and no longer showing up in various tools (brush tools, build menu etc.)

Love your mod though!
Cheetlius Aug 4 @ 12:52pm
dude. i love your mod, but is essential to update it every day? sometimes more than once a day. genuine question and i dont want to interrupt your own work. but it can be tedious having to restart the server because of a different version
melos_tiles  [author] Aug 4 @ 12:50pm
@Kithar: Sorry, its a rather large pack with many files and I did not see the missing textures when I tested it. If everything is working now, I will not do further updates anytime soon.
melos_tiles  [author] Aug 4 @ 12:49pm
@FlakPanda @sage_n0tfound: Thanks for confirming!
Kithar Aug 4 @ 12:47pm
I don't mean to sound like a dick, but is there really no way to test changes before publishing an update? It's really frustrating to have to restart the server so often. The server backup takes an eternity. :deadrat:
4ortEbu4iy Aug 4 @ 12:40pm
Как же ты заебал мод обновлять каждые пару минут, ты сука сделай сразу годно, нет же мы будем каждые пол часа его дрочить, чтоб тебя на стуле пиками дрючили
FlakPanda Aug 4 @ 12:37pm
everything appears to be working correctly
sage_n0tfound Aug 4 @ 12:33pm
its working now thanks
melos_tiles  [author] Aug 4 @ 12:28pm
I reverted to the files now how they were yesterday. Hope that fixes the textures at least. My only issue right now is the TV's not working right. Can everybody confirm? This gives me the same headache like it does to you... Sorry peoples
FlakPanda Aug 4 @ 12:25pm
We appreciate your quick response times and all the hard work you do for this game.
FlakPanda Aug 4 @ 12:24pm
My fault, i had to reload my game from close and not just log back in to my server to get the tiles to come up. everything looks like it working for me again.
Proximitive Aug 4 @ 12:24pm
this is breaking our server whats happening
LordAzure Aug 4 @ 12:21pm
still updating everytime
Jesus Aug 4 @ 12:17pm
Still buggy after the update, got some massive black hole everywhere
FlakPanda Aug 4 @ 12:16pm
@melos some textures have reappeared and some textures still seem to be missing. Like pavement came back in Shortrest City, but some of the building walls are still missing.
Mork Aug 4 @ 12:16pm
Melo, you do great work. Thank you for your tiles! They're pretty
sage_n0tfound Aug 4 @ 12:14pm
the pack updated again and the textures are still missing/black for me
Woodland Aug 4 @ 12:13pm
Thank you melos, Don't be dissuaded. Even as a server owner, I appreciate your mod and updates. Mod mismatch errors and all! <3
melos_tiles  [author] Aug 4 @ 12:06pm
@luliela: Yep, its back visible. Thanks for pointing out.
Sly Aug 4 @ 12:06pm
Thanks for modding things for free. Please feel free to put out a few more updates today :)
