I cannot reproduce the issue. Is the tooltip on how to make items asymmetric now showing up, or do items just show on both sides of the player regardless of what side you set them to show on?

i'm running it with calamity and a handful of other mods and the eyepatch is still very symmetrical.

There seems to be a severe incompatibility with Moomoo's Ultimate Yoyo revamp.
The game crashes on character selection screen.

By default, no: All mod support is relegated to other mods. You can enable Aggressive Compatibility in this mod’s config to make every standard equip (vanilla and modded) asymmetric, though it won’t necessarily look good. I'm assuming this doesn't add duplicate sprites and just mirrors already existing ones.
So it works with texture packs, right?

I'll try. It currently isn't present because of layering issues and because the equip sprite is missing pixels where the player holds the scepter, but I should be able to get around those.

I can't look into whatever bug you're talking about without more information. What were you doing before the game crashed? Did you have any other mods installed? Does the bug still happen if you disable Asymmetric Equipment? What's the actual error message in the log?

So, the mod looks like it isn't compatible with advanced world gen, terraria ambience and gravitation don't flip the screen

at least that's what the client log says in the error

You can just make a config, which would be completely harmless for people that want a hotkey.

Then you'll have to live with it -- I'm not going to restrict the functionality of this mod because you don't like the hotkey it uses.
I might change they hotkey in the future if I have a genuine reason to, but it's staying for now.

Oh, I misunderstood the purpose. Now that I know what it actually does, I want which side it's on to be based on what accessory slot it's in relative to items that go on the same body part.

If all items are forced to be asymmetric, then which side of the player do they show up on? The left or the right? The point of the hotkey is to make it easy to swap an item's side without having to go into a menu or something.
Is there something you're trying to do that requires all items to be forced to be asymmetric?

If you want to add support for Asymmetric Equips to your mod, then you can use the provided API using Mod.Call. Otherwise, I’m not entirely sure what you’re trying to ask.
