Create the blocks/items/entitys in magica voxel and then just use the in-game editor to build it all.
No special tools needed.

How do you create these amazing minecraft maps? I mean, is there some sort of special tool or do you really just build the map's elements in magicavoxel?

I usually go through caves to find iron, if you are on a mountain you won't really find much but if you go deeper down (but not too deep) you should find more.
