@Getoofed0190 They pick up dropped items, might also pick up other items off of the ground but I have never tested that so can't say for sure.

@nancy.isaac.picard Please read through the blue text at the top of the description, then double check the commands list below. Everything should be working if you get a welcome message in game, the addon will walk you through how to use it by following the commands displayed in the chat box.

@Dragai I haven't started work on it yet as I'm currently very burnt out of the game but I do know it can work in my addon and will get to work on it when I eventually get back into things sometime in the new year (unless the devs break the game more, in which case I'll probably just wrap up the unfinished parts and give the game more time).

Alternatively, until I get this addon updated, there is another addon that allows you to claim wild animals, I think it's LG pet manager or something, it's a similar addon to mine but I think it's intended to be much lighter and last time I checked it wasn't as customisable. It shouldn't conflict with mine but you won't get to use my saving system or the other features in this addon on those specific wild animals.

Side note, the first 3 images might be missing, though steam does say they are uploaded and they use to display with no issues. I don't have access to those files at the moment to fix it if needed so this is the best I can do. Check the addons tab when creating a new world, go over to the workshop section, addon should be listed there.

@fabbon6900 you can't load an addon like this in an existing save, you must create a new save, follow the instructions at the top of this page.

@Dragai Possibly, I'll look into it when I get back into the game. The trouble is getting "wild" dogs to save as found in the world to the right persons pet list, if I can figure that out then wild adoptions will be a thing.

At the very least the adoption/purchase systems I plan on adding in the future will come with options that disable spawning, choose where you can adopt/buy dogs and for how much.

@Jixlev762 sadly I have no control over that kind of stuff, the dogs and their audio were made by the game developers meaning I can't edit them at all without making a mod which is something I'm not going to do, at least not any time soon.
All I can do through addons is access stuff like their location and health, move them around and spawn or delete them.

@Soggy I am working on something like that but it will take time as I have a lot of stuff I want to make. It will be a very detailed addon that will directly integrate with AHP and other things I'm working on, most likely being treated like AHP with it starting small and receiving updates over time.

also, heres a small addon you may like: more wildlife, basically an addon that if enabled, more wildlife will appear, in the settings would be the normal wildlife quantity, then the bird quantity, and then the predator / aggressive wildlife quantity.

ah. i thought it was the number of how many you wanted to spawn, like if i typed ?ahpSpawn 2 would spawn 2 dogs, sorry about that haha. thanks.

@Soggy I'm not sure if you are misunderstanding or just using the number 1 as an example but "?ahpSpawn 1" will only spawn beagles as that is their ID. As mentioned earlier you need to either read this page or use the ?ahpHelp and ?ahpBreeds commands in game to know what commands are available, how they work and what the breed IDs are.

i found another bug i think, i tried to spawn the husky with only the Siberian part, a beagle appeared, then i tried: ?ahpSpawn 1 [insert whatever gibberish word idk] and then the beagle appeared again...

okay, but also, i tried spawning one with no spaces, like a Newfoundland, it still spawned the beagle.

Also note that names with spaces likely break the command, I haven't thought of that until now but I'll eventually look into fixing it.

The number needs to be the same as the breed, all of that info can be accessed in game so that you don't have to come back here or try to remember them.
The text (where you typed Siberian husky) is the name you wish to give to the dog and is completely optional.

hey, im having some issues, i spawned a beagle, i named him charlie, and wanted another pet, so i changed to slot 2, and did the ?ahpSpawn 1 Siberian Husky, and instead of a husky, a beagle appeared, and then i cleared the slot and it happened again, please help.

@the_M1_ABRAMS_kid It should do, I haven't tested it in multiplayer in a while and some recent updates may have changed/broken things, was 100% working about 2 months ago. If everything is working fine it will work as normal for the host but other users will need to be authorised by default, if you toggle off the auth requirement when setting up the world it shouldn't require other players to be authorised.

@TwinChops Other animals might be added if I can get all of my planned features working (stuff like command based follow mode and home location).
That said I don't remember seeing cats in game, if they don't exist then there is nothing I can do sadly.

@adam101killam I'm not entirely sure as the spawn zones set up by the game developers are a bit messy but I do know there are some guaranteed spawns around some/all bases and some landmarks, problem is you cant really keep them.
This is pretty much the main reason why I made this addon, why search for ones you cant keep when you can spawn in and save the ones you want.

@NPC Yes they can carry items, they will automatically pick up dropped items and even some props found in the world.

The whistle is a little annoying at times but there isn't anything I can do about it since this addon only adds spawning and saving mechanics, the game developers are responsible for the dogs, whistle and all of their interactions.
I have found that being close is rather important, a single short burst and two short bursts are the only accepted commands as far as I know.

I might be adding a chat command based follow system in the future if I can figure it out, this still requires quite a bit of testing so no promises yet.

And also the whistle does not want to work most of the time every time i use it the dog ignores it and it only Rarely works

@tinaskliros Please read the big blue text at the top of the description, if you do it correctly you will have a message in game from the addon, use "?ahphelp" to see all of the commands.

If there are still issues you may need to unsubscribe, restart your PC, resubscribe and pray it works, sometimes steam has issues when downloading off of the workshop and this is the simplest way of fixing it.

@angfash1 Just checked and it seems like the only "pain" noise they make is a normal sounding bark when taking damage, no whining or death noises as far as I can tell. That said there are many different breeds with different noises, many sound "fine" but others might not, plus the developers could add more sounds in the future without warning (doubt it though).
To prevent crashing the dogs do have to be "killed" before despawning, I have never heard a single noise whilst developing and testing this part of the addon and I probably had to do it over 100 times so there should be no worries there. When they are despawned they sort of just fall over for half a second before disappearing, not something I would say is disturbing but thought I would mention.
