@rex705 VE Insectoids 2 adds a lot of original stuff using patterns and functions I'm not familiar with - I'm struggling with basic XMLs and they're using custom DLLs. Maybe one day, but I don't use the mod myself so I'm not really interested in trying.

making compatibility for VE Insectoids 2 should be the same as replacing the base game insects right? Just replace sprites, names, and descriptions for the VE Insectoids 2 new bugs. Maybe come up with some cool new alien types to match the new bugs.

@pasaway Unfortunately insectoids get a visual filter applied in the game so it's really hard to tell how the drawings will actually look. I've tried some variations and got them as good as I can but I'm not sure if those versions have made it through the auto-moderator yet. Check back in a day or two to see if they look any better.

The xenomorph's head is somewhat hard to see, because it blends in with the granite. I thought about suggesting a change to the head color, but I think it might be better to change the body color to match the head, so they camouflage into the environment. They're coming out of the walls, man.

Confirmed working in 1.6, added the queen! Updated the warrior to be more similar to the drone so the queen really stands out.
Larva are now chestbursters and locusts are a flying xenomorph type I had to make up, I called it a xenowasp.

I can report it's working fine in 1.6! They've added a couple new insects that could use a Xenomorph facelift :) Thank you!!

Update for 1.6 is coming but it's going to take a while, you should still be able to use it anyway.

Hey,so the Vanilla expande team just recently updated the insectoids mod. Notonly that but adding more to it. There is nowa lot more variants of Mega Spidersnoww that I feel this modwould work perfect for retexturing now.

Honestly for a reteture. I really like the texture work. It kinda fits the artstyle of Rim World really well. Btw if you do add compatibility for other insectoid mods for a retexture. I hope to get told. Again cool mod. I love the Aliens Franchise man and this is great. :p2cube:

Come on! These are my favorite marinas from Space Station 13/14!! You just need to download the mods and it will be my favorite mode in Rimworld!! (I wonder if they can be tamed somehow?):steamthumbsup:

@inc_b take a look at the "rename plasteel to mithril" mod or whatever it's called, it's a good example of how to use a simple patch to rename and change description of a vanilla object, just need to change the directory to that of the insects which are in the ThingsRaces folder of the basegame.

Found another issue with hives, fixed now.
Also, just noticed Biotech adds cocoons for individual insectoids - I don't think it's worth replacing those, they work already.

oh this is super cool! I'm not a fan of the vanilla insect designs and have been working on my own retexture. I'm new to modding so this mod should be a great opportunity for me to check out how to structure the files of such a mod!
