BEN 77 was mentioned prior to your comment. I always give credit where credit is due. As for more ideas, I have none really. :( My favorites for Aperture Tag are who I am following for more interesting map ideas with the paint gun.
I know that. I created a path with them. Also created highlights for key areas.
now if you get items limit problems.
you have a new option.
you can decrease lights & observation rooms,
& increase what used to be portable areas,
to retain your light level, in the maps.
while reducing items.
I like the your extended version (without portal) of how to gain hieght.
as for you wanting suggestions of ways to improve the map visually!
keep in mind, players can not fire portals.
so you can have as many of what used to be non-portable or portable tiles as you like.
you can make paterns any & everywhere, without causing exploits.
this will take portal players a while to get their head around.
