I wish I had more time and energy to dedicate towards it. I still want to add server options to limit which are available and maybe make some other mods but I don't see that happening any time soon. It's getting close enough to the holidays that my spare energy is likely to get tied up in other things.
I've also got a home server side project that has been soaking up a lot of my energy.
I also added an icon for it.
The tag is updated.
In case Steam Workshop is doing something weird because I haven't changed the version number, I iterated the version number and uploaded it again.
My previous advice didn't turn out great since the
tag doesn't work here and because I changed the description. If you want to edit it in a way that doesn't delete the other traits, you can simply comment them all out by adding "--" in front of the ones you don't want. Don't forget to do that for the TraitFactory.setMutualExclusive line for each trait you don't want. Of course, if you don't want the 100k trait, you should comment out all of the MutualExclusive lines.
I'll try to add server options to it on my next update, if I can figure it out.
Since you only want the 25 point trait, you should replace the code with the following.
require('NPCs/MainCreationMethods'); --Required for adding traits
local function initFreePointsTraits()
--Create the traits
local add25Points = TraitFactory.addTrait("25Points", "25 Points", -25, "Get 25 points to spend on traits. \n [Some free points.]", false);
end
--Add the traits
Events.OnGameBoot.Add(initFreePointsTraits);
If you're playing build 42, edit this file:
(Drive you installed Project Zomboid on):\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\108600\2872253966\mods\FreeTraits\42\media\lua\client\FreePointsTraits.lua
Otherwise, change this one:
(Drive you installed Project Zomboid on):\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\108600\2872253966\mods\FreeTraits\media\lua\client\FreePointsTraits.lua
Aside from adding compatibility with Build 42, I haven't changed anything.
While I have an idea for making the traits themed, I just don't have the energy for it now and I don't know when I will.
Like i said, i can give you the updated mod files, and you just have to update yours and add the 42 build tag, nothing else, its your choice.
If you prefer, to talk in discord, leave me yours and i add you and i send you the files there.
Awaiting for a reply, cheers.
I'll try to find some time to update the mod but it's not going to be easy right now. I've been dealing with a lot and still have a lot to deal with.
@Rusty: If you want to upload your own updated version of this mod, that's fine. Wanting a better version of the mods that existed before is why I made this version.
I wanted to ask if you pretend to update your mod to the newest build?
I'm aware that already exist mods that offer some free points, but for me personally i always used yours, because it offers more options, not only one, and all in one mod.
Being totally honest i'm using it right now, but only local, since isnt updated here, its a very simple process, if you want i can send you the updated files, and you just update the mod here.
Awaiting for a reply.
Cheers.
It will feel more realistic and less feeling guilty when using this mod for cheating
