These changes made the difference. Thanks BlazingImp.
After testing: Japan 4096ish with mod at 20x, difficulty on normal, long campaign. Japan 248ish with 0 mods, difficulty on normal, long campaign.
So the mod does work.
However, I am playing on a slightly different copy of the mod, where the limit is 200x instead of 20x, so let me test if 20x works for me, and if it does I will put out an update to the mod.
A problem y'all might be having is that the mod might not work on already started saves. you might need to start a new one. I do remember that quite a bit of information is actually kept in your save, and changing some mods and settings will not change saves that have already started.
Didn't it switch to being nationalDirectInvestmentCapGlobalMultiplier at some point?
I am not sure why the description and title say 20x as my copy is set to 200x, but otherwise, its as advertised. it multiplies the investment cap, and it was last tested back in june when my copy of the game was on 4.26.
Given china and india have the highest values at around 500, I'm guessing the cap is based roughly on population, and another value because countries with much less population also have somewhat high (though nowhere near as much) values.
For now I'll try 20. I'll try to have an update out within a day or two
added nationalDirectInvestmentCapGlobalMultiplier in TIGlobalConfig to nation direct investment cap calculation for modders (default is 1)
Kindly requesting an update, somehow.
steamapps\common\Terra Invicta\TerraInvicta_Data\StreamingAssets\Templates
on the second line put
"directInvestmentAnnualIPCap": 100000,
so my first three lines look like
"dataName": "globalConfig",
"directInvestmentAnnualIPCap": 100000,
"quotes": 28,
worked fine for me
Each time they have patched the game I have seen the mods failing
So I load a saved game, which will have the older patch info in them. I then save the game with the new patch ID, and exit to the main menu. Open the MODS menu, unload all, and reload them.
Exit the game completely and reload. Reload the patched game with the MODS reloaded.
This usually works.
I checked that the TIGlobalConfig.json is not changed by other mods and the investment cap ist still 200.
Weird thing is I looked up the file in the game folder and the changed line is the same value (100000) as in the modded file.
So I went and modded the original and the cap increased. So maybe they added a new divisor or the mod file got switched around. :)
Is there a file with the base files of the game which also contains this value? so I can mod it myself? or can I add the lines for this mod somewhere?
if you are having trouble, maybe try to re-install it because the mod wouldve been taken out of the template when the game updated
I know where the saved games are located, and I have seen they are kept compressed
I can open them with either WinZip or WinRAR and read them
But restoring the saved game to a compressed file HASN'T worked yet
Not sure what compression system I am supposed to use
I also modified this MOD so the max at 1M credits
Taking control of the USA, I then invested 1M credits at 150K per section
It resulted in the USA supplying 300K science, 120 boost/turn
