You can actually make charcoil yourself in vanilla.

First, you need to find a metal drum. You can find thoses in some farms, but also in the refugee camp in louisville.

You can safely pick it up, it has no skill needed/chance to break

A metal drum has 2 purpose: it can serve as a rain collector, and fit 800 units of water
And secondly, when it doesnt have water, you can fill it with 5 logs, then light it on. It will burn for 2 days, after which you can empty it and get 2 bags of charcoal

So, charcoal usually spawns in supply crates in warehouses and the like, right? I've searched several towns of warehouses, a number of grills, and so many sheds, and I've never found a single bit of it. Does this mod change how you acquire charcoal? If so, how do you get it? It hasn't appeared after using a wood-burning stove, and there's no recipe for it that I can find.
