If you look at the description of any version of the mod, and the comments of both the academy version and the resistance version, you will see explanations there (I would write more detailed but I am tired and on my way to bed, but also didn't want to leave you waiting for an explanation). :)

I wonder if its possible to automatically assign one based off what faction the player is. probably not with current knowledge.
