you can get a mod were you can drive mechs its called robot vehicles

Added a No Mechs version. Hopefully deleted them all and not broken anything.

To delete mechs: In Teardown main menu click manage mods, click Annex of Q in the middle window, click make a local copy, click on the local copy in the right window , click edit, find and click "prime [instance]" in the scene explorer window, press delete, save in the file menu and press F5.

If I'm correct, the robots were made by "robot.lua" with a body with seperate robot parts?

Mechs make it fun. You can go into the editor and delete the Prime [instance] from the hierarchy then when you play no mechs.
