Cargo Passenger Hub

Making a passenger and cargo train station is an excellent idea, which I need in my city! Unfortunately, the option of two single lines at the top spoils this mod...

This is a good idea. I would love to see a station with 3 or 4 passenger tracks, and 2 cargo tracks, and 2 metro tracks underneath. Something that also provides proper sidewalk room on the road connecting side. The Glass Narrow station for example (not this station), you cannot put Paths to it because it has no room at all - the tracks are right next to the road as part of the station design.

Man, if this had some way for Metro trains to stop on the upper platforms and passenger trains to stop on the lower platforms it would be the perfect compact vertical interchange in the city I'm currently building.

Good idea!

You can use this as terminus station with single two-way rail from this mod: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=724382534

It works fine: https://i.imgur.com/RsWUdwb.png

That depends I'd say. In my imagination the use case for my city - which I created the asset for - is as in the description to supply service points. Not carry huge cargo containers. Service points only need light weight cargo. That's why the ground cargo platform doesn't need huge cranes, but can be easily offloaded from the sides.

I mean a passenger stop over a cargo hub is unrealistic to begin with, but I get it. No harm no foul. It's a really nicely done asset, I just won't be able to use it where I want it

If I haven't used one-way tracks, there would be two tracks above each other. I didn't find that realistic.

tbh this station would be totally perfect for me if it didn't have the one-way tracks. The one singular location where I'd really benefit from an integrated passenger/cargo terminal like this would literally be at the end of the passenger line. So now, after building it I actually can't create passenger line routes because the train would just go into nothingness off the map after stopping here. oh well I guess

sure will try it when im free to play

Yes, I have such plans. But that particular station, no. I am not interested in contemporary architecture. I prefer creating modern or rather futuristic buildings 😉

Love it! Any chance of other varients of stacked stations making an appearance? Like the metro crossovers in New York City?
Nickayz  [author] Sep 26, 2022 @ 3:42pm
@AnotherGuy Probably, but in a while. Try it out and tell me 😉
@macluk I have such plans, but it is a rather long-term project 😅
@JuLi303 Das sieht bei mir auch nicht besser aus 🤷‍♂️ Du musst wohl oder übel selbst Hand anlegen und Säulen etc. platzieren.

do you plan to make a hub come with dual train track? and also if i didnt sub the single train track will this assset still working and able to load? so that i can change it by using RON mod to others train track
macluk Sep 26, 2022 @ 12:27am
@Nickayzv - whatever is easier for; i only imagined large cargo-passenger train station and i know the game would struggle with it :)
anything between 3 and... 6 tracks maybe? ;) 4 will do :)
JuLi303 Sep 25, 2022 @ 3:01am
Welche Tracks verwendest du für die Elevated Tracks von Railway2? Die deutschen Gleise schauen bei mir immer fehl am Platz aus in der Luft
Nickayz  [author] Sep 24, 2022 @ 7:52am
@Chamëleon Force of habit I'm afraid 😅I can definitely add that.
Chamëleon TBN Sep 23, 2022 @ 4:24pm
nice... but it's okay i replace the tracks using RON? ;)
Nickayz  [author] Sep 23, 2022 @ 11:42am
@macluk That's not a problem. How many tracks do you need ? 😂
macluk Sep 23, 2022 @ 5:13am
hmmm... i think for such an idea we would need many more train tracks there :D
jimapos2011 Sep 22, 2022 @ 11:19pm
Finally!!!.Well done
