Ah sorry about that. Best way to track item locations is in the game itself, clicking the book icon at top UI to then show a map of items you have yet to unlock e.g. the one in Lothern or Naggarond. It also lets you know which reward has been randomised, so you can choose to target particular items.

Lol, the old screenshot was why I thought it was supposed to be in Zanbajian. Your list of the hardcoded regionns below makes sense and I apologize if I caused any confusion! Thanks again for this mod because Malus is one of my favorite characters from WH lore. Your mod really makes his campaigns fell full of flavor and really thematic.

Ah wait I can see an old screenshot on the above did actually have Plans of Zanbaijian but I think I had to move it after a conflict, whereas what I've shared below are the current 8 hardcoded regions.

I could look at moving one back to Zanbaijian if it was important to people.

Here is the code below, the actual reward can be random (rotated among locations) as its a reskin of Nagash mechanics but I setup 3 separate campaigns then clicked the book icon in the top main UI and confirmed the following regions all had 'books'. They're almost all exclusively around or to the West of where Darkblade starts also (drawing you more towards other DE and the top-left/NW chaos wastes).

Was your game telling you that a book was in the Region? Not everything is perfectly placed within Book Lore either, I've tried to gamify it a bit to avoid annoyance and to make things fit within the Nagash mechanics.

Did a quick run with only this mod and took the Plains but no book, screenshot below. When you said the books are random, do you mean the settlement places for books are random as well? If so, disregard my post and thanks for keeping one of my favorite mods alive. It really pairs well with the Victory Conditions Overhaul mod.

Updated for 5.0.

Nagash mechanics are still random-ish with this mod so I think should still be OK King_Mandu. I did a quick test there and saw all the books appear. But I can make changes if there is an issue due to Tamurkhan.

Mod still works with 5.0 except there is no book at Plains of Zanbaijin most likely due to Tamurkhan getting put there with the DLC. Regardless, I love this mod and it has been a pleasure seeing modders give more loreful love to Malus than CA ever did. Malus should have gotten Tamurkhan's chieftan mechanic with all his best buds.

Sorry, my bad, there are actually 8 artifacts, it’s just that 2 of them are in Karond Kar and the artifacts menu (the Books of Nagash menu) shows only one so you find that out only after capturing it ...

First of all, I have to say that the idea behind the mod is great and I would like to thank you for your work. However, it seems to me that it does not work as intended - there are only 7 artifacts (not 8, so I always miss 1 random artifact) and they have different effects compared to the information written above (for example the Sword of Khaine gives only casualty replenishment rate: +8% for all armies and corruption -10 for all provinces). I tested it several times with only this mod enabled so it cannot be caused by mod incompatibility.

After some testing I think you can delete the entry in 'db/ui_features_to_cultures_tables' so other dark elf factions don't get a broken books of nagash button with this mod active (Malus' button still works) .

Hey Coggernaut, It's based on the vanilla Books of Nagash mechanics, which the AI ignores. So there is no risk of AI chasing these artefacts.

@Delta_85_pl: defeating Malus was always through focused ranged fire and avoiding melee. Those stats don't really change that (well, ward save a little, but since projectiles usually have low flat damage but many projectiles shot, taking off 20% damage from an arrow that would deal 40 damage anyway (so 40 minus 20% of 40 = 32... times 20 or 30 from a single unit's each model) is not too bad when Malus cannot regenerate, and he only can when in melee combat.

As someone who just finished the second Malus book: you are doing god's (and CA's) work. Thank you for every second of effort you put into this.

A little feedback: 50% research seem to me a wildly outstanding buff, I think 20%-25% would put this mod well into the mod range of "welcome world and character enrichment mods" instead of "feels like brutal cheating" mods. Just something to consider.

Great mod but in my humble opinion rewards are too op. +20 MA/MD and 20% ward save are insane. Malus is one of the strongest melee LL and with this bonuses he becomes demigod.

Hi Manifold Samurai, I've no immediate plans but that sounds cool, certainly sounds like it would fit well with Teclis' s lore, and you could interesting magic improvements or access to new spells maybe.

I'd say it's doable for either, the Books of Nagash core mechanic is fairly modular. If you or someone else wants to get a headstart on it yourself you can also download and open this mod with RPFM and then just start swapping around the Malus faction for Teclis, and generally tweak the rewards and text/flavour etc.

Hi Kriega, I believe there was a fairly extensive WH2 mod that had a fairly elaborate tech tree and reward system for conquering Ulthuan, I'd probably wait to see if they plan to port it over. Some mechanics are a lot easier than others, it seems like the Books of Nagash are designed fairly flexible enough that you could basically give them to any faction or race, but I haven't looked into the office mechanics or what might be required to make it work.

I do agree though that the DE are sorely lacking interesting campaign mechanics.

Hi, do u have any plans on expanding Malekith's faction? Maybe allowing him to recruit Phoenix Guard if he takes over the Shrine of Asuryan, and also a offices mechanic that is tied to Ulthuan province ownership (also the option of 2 faction leader specific seats that lets Malekith choose to be a Ruthless or more benevolent / anti-chaos phoenix king / ever king).
