If you pay attention, the army and fleet of the AI quite often get stuck and inactive when it needs to transfer the army somewhere on ships. It got to the point that the AI got stuck when it was necessary to lead an army to the other side of the Bosphorus Strait, but an army of 12 thousand simply stood in the province adjacent to the Gallipoli Strait. For some reason, a fleet sufficient to transport this army was stuck in the port of the island of Rhodes, where there was an army of 400, which he did not put on ships. I can't know what the reason might be, but the AI couldn't do what it wanted to do. Very depressing that such bugs were never fixed, they break the game.
So I just realized I had missed clean slate.... and Clean slate has map data. should be easy enough to fix by throwing it in as a dependence on my end
Though maybe getting rid of both straits is better since it encourages more naval play from the AI. Either which way, thanks for the update and your mod's been pretty fun to see how it effects balance between Iberia and Northern Africa.
