Will the vehicle framework helps to ground trains to ground as forcing them to use exit point that constructed with rail props?

Have to say this is one of my favorite additions to my modlist. I love that the only real reliable way to make them function is them "flying" off the map, I completely understand and it cracks me up. It's a very "Rimworld" solution and I do mean it when I say I love it, lol.

It's also been great for my colony that functions with a "train system" to reach out to other settlements and move things from one place to another. Really improved my gameplay and it's been very fun to use. Thanks!

woud become the coolest mod in history if it was working train \ station intrigated in online trading. where you coud send trains as a caravan to other players and mail in form of letters. mm add friends etc so many coool posibilites. same for airport whit shuttle but i like trains

@Aiyachan, yes I saw those too a while ago. I think this is for compatibility with various mods that introduce coal resources and if those mods aren't present, you get these warnings. Don't seem to hurt anything, though.

@PrinceOfPluto Just saw that you have started work on a new train mod utilizing SmashPhil's Framework. I took a glance at the xml files today for the vehicle framework and I could not tell how you can limit the terrain or "roads" that vehicles like cars or trains use on the world map. Let me know if you figure it out and I need to alter any xml or C# code for Rails and Roads of the RIm and I will gladly do it so the two can work together. It was great to see how well polished his framework looks though. Damn exciting.

@Vex these art assets are all from PentalimbedP's Decorative Railway Props mod, but it's been abandoned since last August. I've actually been working on new train assets that will use features from the upcoming Vehicle Framework and Vanilla Vehicles Expanded mods, although those mods center around individual vehicles and currently don't have any code that would attach vehicles together like a train coupling. Lmk if you're interested in working together on that

Hey there! I was trying to create actually "functional" trains, but my art sucks. Would I be allowed to use the art from this mod? I could also do so by adding it as a prerequisite if that is preferred.

@Autismus Maximus yeah... the "Old" Steam Locomotive was the first train added before there were any locomotives in Decorative Railway Props, so I literally just used an image I found online as a placeholder. That's why I stated in the description "This train's texture will be updated in the future to a more Rimworld vanilla art style." I suppose "Old" is unclear when I meant it was the original legacy proof of concept that still exists so it didn't break anyone's saves. Honestly the rest of PentalimbedP's textures look fine except for the dimensions on the diesel locomotive which has a little too much detailing as well. They planned to add more content, but it's been inactive since August.

Once SmashPhil's Vehicle Framework is released alongside Vanilla Vehicles Expanded, I plan to release a new train mod I've been working on that uses the new vehicle mechanics. I hope you'll be happy to know I am creating many new train textures for it in the Rimworld vanilla art style.

This mod throws red errors if used with one coal mod, complaining that it couldn't find the coals from different coal mods I've never used. The errors seem to be harmless, but red errors are red errors. Mod list I confirmed this with was Harmony, all DLC, Coal Expanded (Continued), SRTS, and SRTS Trains.

For some reason, I can only place the handcar facing north-south, not east-west.

I don't have the option to launch, handcars all fueled up, has people and items in storage, but it just gives me the option to select launch group

@PinceOfPluto, also might be of interest to you, Smash Phil confirmed that despite their code comment, travel speeds as low as 0.15 work fine. I've been using 0.2 for a rowboat and 0.5 for a sailboat without issue myself, so I asked, because their comment says it's supposed to be 1 to 25.

Just in case you wanted to use a lower speed for the handcart, but felt constrained to positive integers.
