You betcha. xpath can be somewhat confusing at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's shockingly powerful, and it's much more compatible as well.

Ty Kaedys for showing me the door :)
I'll gradually change all my mods to use patching.

Updated to utilise patching instead of file overwrite.

Oh, looks like you also have some undocumented changes reducing the volume and range of the neurocharger sound effects. Here's a few more patches that apply those changes as well:

Just throw them in the same file as the other ones, next to the other `<Operation>` blocks.

Here's a patch equivalent of the changes documented in your description. Just make sure you put it in a /Patches directory in your mod root instead of /Defs, or it won't work, iirc (and you can completely remove the /Defs directory once you do so). If you have any questions on the syntax or how it works or anything, I'd be more than happy to help.

I really like the idea of this mod, but not using patching methods makes it kinda... ouch...
Kaedys  [author] Dec 16, 2023 @ 10:21pm
You really should be patching defs, not overwriting them. Redefining the defs like this is terrible for compatibility, it'll trample any changes made by any other mods.
