daclundunk actually if you link a inf rps machine (inf 2m recommended) to a impeller pump then it can pump to 60 atmospheres

the space dlc ruined it
because at 0,5 pressurei it is at 60 atmosphere pumps can only pump less than 60 atmosthers

Would this work for a 5-piston engine with offsets as ".50, .25, 0, -.25, -.50"?

you can try 0.45 but you need a starter for anything higher than 0.32

the best setup for medium 3 cylinder engine are: 0.3 setting, 108C boiler, -0.33, 0, 0.33

C1: -0.66
C2: -0.33
C3: 0

Cylinder offsets-
C1: -0.33
C2: 0
C3: 0.33
use this system here and it should get running. if it doesn't, friend me and send me a message- i'll develop a system specifically for a 3 cylinder

Quick question, I see a lot of 4 cylinder piston engines, but what about a more realistic three cylinder? I have tried various systems myself and cannot get the timing right, which results in the engine seizing up (which isn't realistic either). Hope this works!

Really dissapointing you can't get the steam pistons to higher RPS, like real life.

Try messing around with lower values such as 0.65

what you have made, is called a "valve gear"
