Yes, can confirm there's some kind of nasty leak here. Without vonBiomes I'm seeing 100-150fps on my 3060ti with everything on max and no RTX... With the mod I'm seeing terrible frame drops until by the third mission in a play session it's down close to 10-20.
Restarting the game and playing the same mission see FPS back up over 100 again. But restarting after every single mission to keep the game playable doesn't cut it for me.

Only some maps are playable sadly, the others burn up your GPU, every third mission Im forced to reduce my resolution scale to 20%~ just to finish the mission :HeadExplode:

Fairly certain this mod causes a memory leak. Cached memory is only purged when the save is loaded.

Always been a huge fan of this mod. Recently returned to MW5 and did a full refresh/reinstall of my mod list and checked all dependencies. I believe previously I was running VonBiomes ~12.

There has been a lot added since I last played which is excellent, however I want to mention that I am also having issues with performance degradation. First mission runs flawlessly with max settings 2K, then with each consecutive mission performance drops dramatically.

What I found works is to launch a mission, then once it is loaded restart the mission and it runs perfectly. It can be a bit tedious doing this for every mission but load times are not too bad so I don't mind.

Hey i have a problem on planet with high density of tree, in stronghold mission leopard drop mech on top of the tree, and they get stuck (Please help step bro). Not game breaking, but annoying since i have to do a deforestation work before killing them.

makes game unplayable with some biomes, i have high end hardware and im getting slogged down to maybe 5fps even when running minimum specs. The gaslighting is fucked

confirmed that this mod is causing massive performance drops on high end hardware. disabled until its fixed

Running really poorly on latest DLC.. 4090 and 7950x went from 130s to 20-30s at 4k. Not sure what's going on, but something is rough. No Ray Tracing is running.

Oh is it this one + Solaris DLC that sent FPS to 20-24? I was hoping it was something else but hadn't gone through the trial-and-error. Some over saturated colors came in with the 60% fps hit, I suppose that's related.

i woul rly glad if you make some aditional thing that we could turn off in settings. for some reason my game goes 90 - 160 fps, than every like 5 - 20 seconds it drops to 10 - 25 fps. no matter if fight is going on, or derection i am looking for. but its more frecuent in fights. sry for misspeling, its not my native language.

Since installing the Von Biome 18 mod, I no longer have the option to change anything in the mod. It's not in the menu anywhere anymore and I don't understand why.

So, not sure why but just after this last weekend patch, my salvage when running this mod is reduced to 3. I'm way under weight limit and there should be no reason for this with this mod. When I turn the mod off my salvage returns to normal.

No idea what happened but the DLC 6 version tanked performance so hard I had to uninstall the mod.

Was at 40-45+ now 15-30. No setting changes do anything unfortunately.

SO, the pathfinding and performance is the worst I've ever seen since the latest update, AI constantly gets stuck on any number of terrain objects, things you think you can walk past have a hitbox that goes 15 meters past the physical object, it's actually getting worse, which is a shame, because the terrain variety is excellent.

@Andreas: follow up: if you remove the vonBiomes, an already generated mission will be dark or weird — because the biome is simply missing. That is totally natural. Sorry to hear you even tried to reinstall the game.. if you load an existing save with a mission on a biome, it still has the biome set already, and if the biome is missing it will logically break. But the rock blocking the exit would be interesting for me to see if I can find the issue - a screenshot (ideally on Discord) would be great.

@izmegul : it was still Beta - and please read the mod update notes, there is a mod option to disable them if you do not like it (or performance)

@Mr. Person: yes, this is how the game is - foliage is not synced (that would probably kill every network;) But it should not be a game stopper, only different alignments:)

Still, clouds should be made a separate mod. Sometimes it looks terrible, sometimes it unnecessarily loads the video card. It’s unpleasant to continue the game when in each mission you need to adjust the brightness and quality of graphics

it seems to be there are problems to uninstall the mod. i have a mission where the mod places a rock exactly in front ot the ship entrance so one mech cound not go out, when i deinstall the mod, the mission is "black" icant see nothing (also with night vision), i also reinstalled the whole game, doesnt work, how is this possible? is the mod information also in the save game file?

Still having the issue where sometimes my co-op partner will not see objects in the environment that I do, especially impassable ones (like some trees or big rocks) that he will get stuck on because he can't see them, but I can.

Is there a solution to this?

changing option "perfomance volumetric cload samples" 2 >> 1 makes fps up to 60 from less than 20

@Sarah: there can only be one lighting and weather mod active in MW5. vonBiomes has its own lighting and weather system implemented (and much extended:)

Can you please hop on the Discord and share more details? All biomes have been tested to run in 50-60 FPS normally on an older 2070S card.

Hey everyone - vonBiomes 17 is out!
This is a major overhaul with much work put into it during the last week! It not only extends the already existing volumetric clouds from Xenofungus and Desert Moon to all Biomes, but also has a widely reworked lighting system with tons of parameters. Each planet is different, each mission unique. Since that is quite the thing, here is an official Beta Release first.

What is new:
Volumetric Cloud System with different cloud types, integrated cloud lighting, randomization, and more
Enhanced and extended light system with all the variables in calculations, from orbit distances, space nebulas, sky bodies colors and distances, cloud densities, biome modifiers, randomization and more
New Night-vision Material
Mod options for volumetric clouds settings, performance & more
Fixes and improvements from various biomes

Adding to the list of "some maps really lag". I'm mostly bouncing off my 100fps limit but occasionally have 35fps. And once it happens it doesn't stop. I think there might be map assets loaded that don't get unloaded or something and remain invisible but messing up the gpu pipeline.

I haven't been able to put a finger on it exactly.

We have noticed occasional maps - snow, desert - where trees suddenly appear and fall over 50m above the terrain. We say the space trees failed to colonise another planet.
Maybe these are the issue. Maybe they are a separate minor glitch not affecting anything.

Not sure how to get useful information for the mod author but I do IT for a living and would be happy to follow some useful instructions.

some maps look great and amazing! The graphical changes are such a good touch. Until you get those few odd maps where your fps goes down to >35.

New VonBiomes update seems to be causing severe lag during CO-Op play. The previous version did not have this problem, haven't changed any settings or mods.

the load order set by the mod being changed broke compatibility with multiple mods that worked perfectly well together before, thankfully I still have the old version from nexus

Some planet previews are broken showing the buggy interior of the dropship, I experienced frame drops to 15/20 fps that lasted for the entire mission, and now I can no longer purchase vouchers of the purchase salvage mod :steamsad:

melting glaciers plays really badly and is probably HORRIBLY bugged to the point that ai completly lacks a functioning navmesh

which is especially apparent on raid missions for some reason, where the entire map just generates into massive canyons which in turn are almost completly clogged up with ice mounds, which makes it almost impossible to propperly traverse the map without jets

Post todays update: During Op. Rat in the Tigress Missions, myself and a group of players found ourselves dealing with sub 20 FPS, not sure what is causing it but the change is drastic as pre-update it was much higher. Not sure what else I can add for troubleshooting, my apologies.

Lighting is often too bright/dark too, cant say i like this system.
