I start with a good lightbox image, resize it, apply some blurring to simplify the image and make it look more cartoony, put a black border around it, and try to keep the file size < 25k

My suggestion for .22lr is Margolin MCM pistol

As in for next caliber I'd suggest .38 special

Good job with the mods! Adding niche guns is great approach. Definitely better than making another mod that only adds the most popular firearms that overlap with another gun mods.

Something like a Vudoo or other high end bolt rifle would be cool. Also seconding the 10/22, it's by far the most common 22LR rifle at this point. A Ruger Single Six and/or a Volquartsen Black Mamba would be cool as a nicer pistol, maybe trader only?

I think the legendary Ruger 10/22 with drum magazine would be nice. Also I would like to see a Cel-Tec CP33, it's a pistol with 33 round magazine and very interesting futuristic look.
