its true, and this cars inbetween the years of defective gas tanks when rear ended at freeway speeds. Years for these tanks were 1992-2001

i learned by my dad, that like the pinto, these cars exploded because ford put the fuel tank near the rear bumper for the 2nd time when rear ended
