Lucky Shot ain't even a good hat compared to this. It is inconsistent with soldier's default helmet and idk about you but it is unnoticeable compared to this.

You do make a good point, in the end it is Valve's fault for putting "gimmick" items in the game instead of sets of themed clothing and hats that can work for different loadouts. I wish it were different, since their choices have soured my own view on these kinds of items, no matter their quality. Either way, no matter what you make, I hope you make them with more love than Valve seems to give Tf2. Keep up the good work.

I have made plenty of such "casual looking" items and sets, a simple look into my workshop page would show that.

@KFC I dont see how a "Bomb turned into a makeshift helmet" is considered ill fitting for soldier in anyway, It's certainly not a "random object on head" item.

I feel like people are now starting to be too harsh on items that are even remotely different from the casual military, I get that there is a lot of annoyance at valve for their picks as of late and I agree, look at my workshop, I'd love for some of my more "classic" style designs like the various Mafia sets I've made, the engie sets, the pyro shirts, etc.

But being overly harsh on items that even try and be a bit of fun in their design while staying true to the characters will just demotivate creators. The original hats did this, one of Soldier's first hats was a steel pot on his head, spy had a camera hidden in a beard.

This looks really nice, and you've got a lot of skill modeling, but I feel as if this is another piece of headgear that doesn't really work towards making a casual looking loadout, and is rather jokey. I'm sorry to be harsh about it, but when I see this, I think "This looks really well made, but I wouldn't wear it and would probably sell it if I unboxed it.". However, you've proven you have a lot of talent, I would suggest taking that skill and making items that can work in multiple loadouts and actually feel like clothing or cosmetics that people would want to wear.

i'm assuming you're going for "explosive landed on soldier's head but didn't go off" which the lucky shot does better but if not then it's just another generic "random object on soldier's hat" type cosmetic.

I don't see how they are similar?

I mean we already have the lucky shot.
