@KFC I dont see how a "Bomb turned into a makeshift helmet" is considered ill fitting for soldier in anyway, It's certainly not a "random object on head" item.
I feel like people are now starting to be too harsh on items that are even remotely different from the casual military, I get that there is a lot of annoyance at valve for their picks as of late and I agree, look at my workshop, I'd love for some of my more "classic" style designs like the various Mafia sets I've made, the engie sets, the pyro shirts, etc.
But being overly harsh on items that even try and be a bit of fun in their design while staying true to the characters will just demotivate creators. The original hats did this, one of Soldier's first hats was a steel pot on his head, spy had a camera hidden in a beard.
