This represents the wasting of resources that is inevitable when doing industrial processes at the small scale. Synthread also probably has a higher thread count than basic cloth.

uh hello why is it requiring more combined resources than synthread produced?

Thanks for making this. The synthread recipe is good. 50 cloth + 25 chemfuel = 132 silver (market value) -> 25 synthread = 100 silver. It makes sense that it is a bit more expensive to produce than purchase, as it is presumably made on a large scale in the lore. The hyperweave recipe is too expensive imo... 50 synthread + 1 adv component = 400 silver -> 25 hyperweave = 225 silver. I understand the reasoning from your comment and I would suggest halving the required synthread to 25 (300 silver cost for materials). This would work out nicely to 300/225 = 1.33x, about the same for both recipes.

Also, to keep the same amount of 'cloth-like' material required for both recipes, maybe: 25 cloth + 40 chemfuel = 129.5 silver -> 25 synthread = 100 silver.

I haven't found a balanced synthread and hyperweave recipe mod yet. This one is closest though, so would be very nice to see these tweaks!

Yeah, it's a pretty simple mod, I'd be surprised if it stopped working in 1.4.

@Lord Buttery Cacao it works in 1.4 as is. Got fabricators churning out synthread in current game. You can ignore the game's warning and just turn on this 1.3 version.

Maybe. We'll see.

Will this be updated for 1.4?

IIRC the in game text says the technique for crafting hyperweave is a closely guarded glitterworld secret. I'd say the recipe being a 20,000 research at spacer tech level with the prerequisites of: advanced fabrication, would be sufficient to balance giving yourself unlimited access to what is supposed to be a rare trade/ quest reward material. Sure, you can farm it- but you'll have to delay flipping the colony to the Archonexus/ launching the ship to do it. It'd become a luxury of royalty runs, which is primarily where you'd need hyperweave without mods anyways

in that case i'd say you should use luciferium! those are actual nanites. - they are difficult to acquire without mods though, but so is hyperweave.

but i run a mod that lets me craft luciferium so for me it would not be an issue.

@Red Phantom: The reason I put advanced components as part of the recipe is that hyperweave is described as fabric woven with nanites. The closest resource to that in the game is advanced components.

Of all the synthread and hyperweave crafting mods i think i like this one the best, i dont know where an advanced component would logically fit in creating a raw resource(hyperweave).
perhaps replace it with 15-20 plasteel. just as expensive raw materials wise without the extra step.

would make it perfect imo :)
