For dedicated servers, I usually just set up everything using Mod Manager: Server with Mod Manager: Load Order Sorter then copy the servertest file to my dedicated server
When the mod is downloaded, the Vehicle Salvage Overhaul directory does not contain mod files, only the directories 42 and common
VehicleRepairOverhaul loads fine though.
Vehicle Salvage Overhaul when building a server. It should look like VehicleRepairOverhaul;VehicleSalvageOverhaul
I'll probably start with adding salvaging options to all the parts of the vehicles I added in the last few updates to the B41 version as I completely forgot about it.
Reimplemented individual part salvaging + wooden parts. Changes may need to be made to the output amounts or items (B42)
Added Repair and Salvage options to KI5's '80 MAN KAT1 (will be supported in B42 once it's updated)
Added Repair and Salvage options to KI5's '86 Oshkosh P19A + Military Trailers (were missing in B42 due to part name changes)
Added Repair and Salvage options to KI5's '92 AM General M998 + M101A3 Cargo trailer (were missing in B42 due to part name changes)
Added Repair and Salvage options to KI5's '92 Ford Crown Victoria bumper parts which were missing
Maybe I could add a sandbox option to control the amount that it repairs.
Just one thing though, I wish tire repair was more feasible. The Fix A Flat does only so much and it's quite rare on extremely rare loot. It feels a little bit out of balance compared to all the other repairs that are much easier. (It's probably realistic the way it is now, to be fair). I would love to see it do more repair % and find more of them in the world to offset the fact that tires just fall apart when driving offroad. Just my 2 cents though. Great mod either way :D
Broooo combinations of items for repairs would be goated though. I love the idea. It's been hard salvaging parts that are all the same in B42, so it would be a super welcome change.
Thanks for all the hard work!
@hehehemann reminded me I could just make it a sandbox option so I'll probably just do that so everyone can just use what they prefer.
Also, from now on, any updates or fixes (if I have any) will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays unless a critical bug occurs from a game update or something. That way people know when to expect an update and can back up their saves in case I screw something up again.
@SP4RTAN, regarding the question you asked, i dont mind the change for crafting menu, since i use this mod , so i figure it would be compatible, but if it stays as it is, i dont mind as well, just leaving my oppinion.
Cheers.
There's pros and cons to doing this. If the repairs use the new crafting system, you'll be able to mix and match what items you use for repairs. For example, if you want to repair a hood, it could maybe cost 5 items and you'd be able to use different combinations of metal items for the repair like 2 copper sheets and 3 sheet metal or 3 scrap metal, 1 brass scrap and 1 metal pipe. BUT you'd have to uninstall the parts first and the costs might not be as balanced as they are now.
Parts that can't be uninstalled like trunks and glove-boxes will still use right click repairs
The B41 mod ID has never and likely will never be changed. If you're on B41 the only thing you need is "VehicleRepairOverhaul".
I was worried, I thought my save was gone too after seeing the previous comments. Just had to enable the mod in the mod-list of my save at it was able to load. Thank you bro! :')
In the meantime, I was mainly curious if there was a copy of the previous update 42 release from April 7th floating around that we could use temporarily. Doesn’t seem like that’s the case—I didn’t see anything on GitHub, and Steam overrides past versions automatically during updates.
Thanks anyway. The server owner should be back in a few hours, so they’ll handle the update then.
