This map needs more love. I am struggling big time which is great. Fantastic practice

Honestly my main beef with this map, as a lover of noob dribble, is that you used the cement texture but can't let the ball touch it.

That background colour is foul. MY EYES!

Please update it with the ball spawning everytime - it is really annoying and feels unpolished.

Getting rid of the ball the circle is the most evil thing you can do. Otherwise, decently challenging map.

cheers, shall try it out!

Hey Charlie I know it can suck when you are first starting out. I struggled a lot when I first started, but something that helped me and that I have recommended to quite a few people is going into bakkes and under the 'current game' tab lower the game speed to .70 (hitting TAB will let you manually enter values). This can really help build your base muscle memory. Do one or two 15 minute sessions like this, and then increase the game speed in .10 increments. If you feel like the increases are a bit much you can always roll back, but try to not stick in the slow-mo too long as it may negatively affect your actual game play. Good luck!

Fapparina yes there are bugs and still much to do with regards to coding in kismet. I'm finding less time than I would like to fixing the map but work has been keeping me super busy. You are 100% right in that getting this in under 20 minutes on a first go is pretty crazy. But it's a goal I want golds and up to shoot for (if you are gold-plat don't get discouraged if this map takes an hour plus. it's all about the reps 💪). This workshop is about building the muscle memory for the basics of dribbling , and then mastering them. I'll change the description to temper expectations. If you find yourself smoothly and with little trouble finishing the map then I would suggest moving on to Dribble Challenge 2 Overhaul, and maybe returning to this map for fundamental training (like how pro athletes are always grinding fundamentals). Thanks for the feedback!

good map, extremely bugged, and under 20 minutes target for gold to champ ?, thats a bit crazy, i doubt anyone under champ can do this in under 20 minutes first try

Oh the disappearing white circle was 𝘵𝘰𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 intentional 😬. Actually it was initially a goof on my part. But I left it like that because it's such good practice of reading the ball and lessening the need to focus on the white circle leading to better spacial (and opponent) awareness. So yea the reason it feels unintentional is because it was, but leaving it in was intentional. I'll look into making it feel as such (maybe add a cheeky sign?). But if that doesn't work out, or others feel miffed about not having the circle I'll get it back in there

hey dude. I like the fact that the ball actually falls through the floor now, so I'd consider that an improvement indeed.
But i noticed that the white circle disappears below the ball at some point, and stays gone. While it does feel like very good practice (dibbling without the circle) it doesn't feel intentional. Mid-level it disappears and stays gone for the following levels. In regards to that: I believe at the time that DMC made the map, it wasn't possible yet to have the circle indicate the vicinity of the ball (like it does on the regular maps). But now it should be possible. So if you're improving the map, I'd say that's a big optional plus :)

good luck and thanks for the effort and the map!

Mr.Pirate nah its COMPLETELY annoying. I'm working on doing an overhaul of the map, but having to learn how to use UDK and kismet on top of blender has proven to be time intensive :steamfacepalm: ... I'll look into doing a temporary patch fix of the spawns before further delving into an overhaul since it's going to take a minute to actually get out of beta into a finished map. Thanks for the feedback!
mr.pirate Feb 19, 2022 @ 10:28am
ball doesn't spawn consistently. kind of annoying
Plumato Feb 17, 2022 @ 8:37am
but anyways, dmc said he hopes u make ur own maps in the future and use this as a learning curve

Also: if it was made for JUST FRIENDS u can make it unlisted....
Plumato Feb 17, 2022 @ 8:35am
I didn't delete it, but if y'all are out here to make me look bad then sure, I am the enemy here I guess!

Whatever.
Freyja  [author] Feb 16, 2022 @ 9:42pm
yea i didn't delete your comment plumato. i just started this whole workshop map thing and rarely use steam as it is, so i honestly didn't even know you could do that. and if your friend is dmc tell them i said hi! i'm a big fan of their work and i am learning a lot about udk and kismet. this is still a beta version of the map, and in the end the plan is to have it completely transformed. i posted it here so my friends could beta test the levels for input and bugs. glad others are getting some use out of it tho! i still don't know much about comments and deleting them so i do wonder what could have happened to yours ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ have a great day!
ZennZar Feb 16, 2022 @ 8:02pm
and my comment that I made was sarcasm
ZennZar Feb 16, 2022 @ 8:02pm
or you removed it trying to frame him because if he deleted it then why would he keep him own comment where he said thank you for the feedback? lol
Plumato Feb 16, 2022 @ 1:47pm
Nah I'm not toxic, just standing up for a friend. Also I see my comment got removed....lol ok
ZennZar Feb 14, 2022 @ 2:10pm
Plumato is toxic confirmed
Freyja  [author] Feb 13, 2022 @ 1:46pm
Thanks for the comment Plumato! The map is based on dmc's noob dribble as I mentioned in the description, however I did a massive rework of level design beyond the first few levels so as to make it more of a realistic challenge with regards to training dribbling (especially for beginners). This is my first rl workshop map, and was largely an educational experience and I appreciate the feedback
