A bit incompatible with Refined Hotwire: just in some vehicles, I'm unable to undo the hotwire with that mod.

Yes it's safe to remove.
The code runs during gameplay and uses vanilla hotwire system.

So is this mod pretty safe to remove mid multiplayer server? I'm guessing yes.

This is definitely a good idea, though I'd say one thing to enhance it could be having a high electrical skill lower or even prevent the chances of it failing potentially.

Mostly just as a way to give the electrical skill more value since after 3 it basically has none whatsoever.

All the variables reset every time you restart the game.
But most of the variables are based on the car condition, so you are okay to restart/save etc.

It would be very cool if you could adjust the chance of ignition problems. For example, through the settings sandbox.
I would also like that there would be a chance to completely lose the hotwire and the need to do it again

can i use this with expanded hotwire? i really like the chance for the hotwire to come undone due to specific circumstances

This mod will be compatible with everything, because it only works when starting the car or driving the car when it's already hotwired.
You don't need to start a new game, all the data this mod uses is from the vanilla game.

Yeah, you have to deal with it.
This will make finding a car key even more rewarding than normal.

I find it that I usually prioritize hotwiring cars and this mod makes it so that I don't do it, as it's kind of cheesy and too easy.

Which allows you to un-hotwire cars and create keys.
With that mod, you can have some kind of a work around in case you never find a key!
