would love to see your mods brought to b42! especially this, books break, hotwire nerf, and boots!

Would be nice if it were possible to go back to previously generated characters. Maybe use the "saved character" system to make a temporary list for players to choose from?

I love this mod but my buddies don't. LOL

I could click host and then my hosting client had it working and the client I used to connect.

Try to confirm that the mods are loading correctly.
Use the mod manager Server mod to configure your server mods.

Does this mod work online with friends? i host a game with this mod enabled but i notice im not forced to have random traits.. they are still picked with freewill.

Thanks for this update. Amazing!

The required negative trait means it will have at least 1.
But you may always randomly receive more.

I have added a TOTAL REQUIRED perk sandbox option now.
The current settings are effectively MIN settings, however there is no MAX, so if your MIN is at 1, you can still get more than 1 negative perk.

The way it works, I would have to restart the character creation if the perk count goes over MAX.
It works like this:
- Choose proffession
- Add random negative perks until positive trait score (and required negative trait count)
- Add random positive traits until trait score 0
Now it will repeat the last 2 steps until the required total perk count is reached.

A wonderful mod. But is it possible to make a random number of negative traits so that not a fixed number is set, but the minimum and maximum allowable? A configurable range of the number of random negative traits would make even more variety.

i updated the mod. If there are more issues or bugs, let me know.
Also doing this I found out that it's possible to make it so that clients cannot cheat at all by closing the game for example.
Zomboid isn't a competitive game, but technically it would be possible to add that in the future.

Thanks for the info on the bug, I played with mortraits before but now use SOTO.
I think I can fix that bug

Okay, I got an idea to that I'll add some more rolling, 9000 rolls to make sure the player has >0 points and also try to spend the points in case there are too many too.

I think sandbox options should work too, so I can add a required negative trait as a configurable option now

I want to update that this is not working with More Traits, we regularly get characters that have -X trait points, and thus have to be rerolled. Worst case someones last character is this kind of character.
nigel  [author] May 18, 2022 @ 6:23pm
Yes it works with such mods.
Mo Mo May 18, 2022 @ 5:49pm
does this work with mods that add traits, hairs, and clothing?

Sounds good. We love the mod In the server. Forces players to be out the comfort zone they normally play with. Our server could not exist without this mod. Thanks again!

I don't think there's a way to check if a player is connected or run code on the player BEFORE the player is loaded in.

I had the same problem with the mod that adds extra trait points if the player takes a break after dying.

If I find a way to check if a player does this that is not easy to cheat, I'll do something.

Should add an option If a player disconnects In the character creation screen He/She gets added to a ban list. We found to many people cheesing the system. Not even sure If this Is a thing. If that could be added we would love you for that.
Him Jan 25, 2022 @ 4:24am
Thank you!
nigel  [author] Jan 25, 2022 @ 4:12am
Hmm, I cannot replicate that bug, but I added an update that also changes the COOP menu not allow back.
Him Jan 24, 2022 @ 2:16pm
No not the cloths. They can hit the back button In the character creation screen and just going back to random.
nigel  [author] Jan 24, 2022 @ 2:10pm
What do you mean? For clothes?
Him Jan 24, 2022 @ 1:45pm
Found that they can press the back button and keep doing this to keep going with selection. They found a way around the 5 clicks.
Him Jan 23, 2022 @ 1:58pm
Good job!
soulbyss Jan 22, 2022 @ 3:31am
amazing update and thank you so much adding them
soulbyss Jan 21, 2022 @ 11:51pm
player can start with op stuff with the mod i got and not sure how to disable or limit the clothing option so i asked if its possible
nigel  [author] Jan 21, 2022 @ 11:26pm
Yes that is possible, but why?
Does everyone pick the same clothing?
I don't think that changes gameplay too much to warrant the removal of the freedom of cosmetic customization
soulbyss Jan 21, 2022 @ 11:07pm
Is it possible to make it so where you can also just click on random button on character creation after the trait randomization? So it's just like clothes, looks etc. be random only too?
Him Jan 21, 2022 @ 9:06pm
Thank you!
nigel  [author] Jan 21, 2022 @ 9:05pm
Updated! Now you may not load your character.
Him Jan 21, 2022 @ 8:26pm
Looking forward to the small patch to fix that Issue.
nigel  [author] Jan 21, 2022 @ 8:16pm
YES! good spot
Him Jan 21, 2022 @ 3:15pm
Also found that they can use save character profiles In creation to by pass this.
Him Jan 21, 2022 @ 2:41pm
Does not force new players to have random characters. Is this a thing you can add?
