The VE team officially announced that VFE - Ancients will be entirely rebuilt for 1.6 as a Quests Expanded module, as such I've reverted this back to not be labelled as compatible with 1.6.

If the new VFE-A still includes a vault start with similar barriers then I'll update accordingly, but I certainly hope the team will realize that such obstacles don't make for a good start lol

I don't know if it would be possible to have changed, but currently the smaller vault doors do not open without power, normal auto doors will open as normal doors even without power. An addition to open these doors with no power would be helpful as well

Thank you so much, I just started and pretty much starved to death as it took so long to blindly open vault doors until I could find food, had to cheat to do so and was kinda immersion breaking considering I’m from said vault

Updated to no longer override the starting maps and remove the doors, but instead apply a 24-hour long buff to your starting pawns that will let them hack the doors almost instantly. This should make it less intrusive and more future proof to map generation changes from either the base game or Vanilla Expanded team.

Should be compatible with the upcoming 1.5 update and I've tagged it as such, but since VFEA isn't updated itself I can't actually test it just yet.

No floor, also doesnt seem to be working, was still blocked by Large Door. Maybe the OG mod silently atempted to counter-patch it ? Maybe just a bug.

When you update it to 1.4, please add a <downloadUrl> and/or <steamWorkshopUrl> to the About file as it always says in the startup log even when not active.

@player_8008 you can add/remove powers in dev mode.Just switch it on in your settings and you can edit the powers a pawn has if you open the powers tab on the pawn. Or you can also add powers to a pawn who doesn't have any in one of the dev menus.

I think another good addition to this would possibly be removing the power requirement on vault doors, can't tell you how many times I am stuck in my own vault because a vault door has no power to open

I considered replacing them with the vault doors but that would be a bigger detriment in the long run than removing them as the vault doors are pretty slow to open. Could have used regular doors but players can just build those if they want them. If you really want the vault walls to flank regular doors, just use dev mode to place them in.

I feel like an easily openable door would be a better replacement than to just remove them so that the doors can have an actual use, with a togglable lock, rather than a door that needs to be hacked and disappears magically

Well then, YOINK, looks like I might make an Ancients playthrough after all. The patch to make the Water Purifiers useful was a great first start, but it'd be a moot point if I couldn't actually reach the damned thing to use it.

If you use replace mod, you can build over those walls and then deconstruct.

It's possible but for this mod I wanted to only change this one aspect, part of the intended design of the original vaults is being stuck with the layout but you get all the cool stuff inside and the super strong walls. If you want to expand, you're gonna have to take a few days with a breaching axe.

For your own desire you could either use dev mode to destroy the walls you want to get rid of or easily alter their health in your own mod installation. It's all in XML which is relatively easy to read and change.

Would it be possible to add modern vault walls with the same texture (or similar texture) but with significantly LESS health (on par VE armored walls) as well as vault doors? It's hard not to expand your base since the vault is so cramped. Totally understand if this is outside the scope of this mod. Thanks for reading!
