It's nothing to do with the model, just SFM being clunky, it has issues downloading larger files on occasion.
I have a pinned discussion detailing this issue and multiple ways to fix it.

Hello. The tentacle model seems to work just fine but the blob model in itself appears as an error. I´d appreciate if you looked into that.

they really model a lot on this guy for only showing mostly the neck and Head and Tentacle arms, seems as the Fire Melted down the spaghetti wire robotic Skeleton into it self so much that it became an huge sticky melt Blob from all the Heat,
which it self pretty creative.
