Uh, since the character just got update I'll just say that the EX dair spike is a little strong, idk, I don't balance characters.

I just noticed I love this character, I just feel like I can do like 40 percent in 3 seconds without being broken, every hit feels incredible, and I'd love that more people played him

i would nerf brave bird, but generally well balanced.

I really wasn't expecting this one to be so good. The "EX" meter is a really fun gimmick and down special is super cool.

Down special doesn´t hit, I don't know if it´s a random bug or your working on wil o' wisp, but if you are i´d recommend there was some way to make the projectile bigger because it´s real easy to dodge it, specially when the set up is so slow. Maybe the fire ball could cause damage even while not moving, but dissappear if it does or after a while, like ROB's gyro in smash, maybe it wouldn´t work with blaziken I don´t know. But other than that, I love how dynamic the moves are, and the ex moves are great, just a bit hard to get the hang of the timing, but when it does hit it's awesome.

The character is neat in terms of visuals and how the moves feel, but having to press block during the startup for EX moves is really frustrating. The window is very small and playing it quickly started getting annoying.

Played some more, Blaziken's B-air is no longer a viable kill move at reasonable percents, I think you nerfed the knock back a little too much.

Up strong angle change is nice, before it never hit anywhere near above his center just right in front of blaze.

The self damage for ex-nair should be reduced to 5 since it now no longer serves as a good kill or damaging option. 8% for that weak output? I think the changes for bair should be reverted since it lessens the reward for landing a small sweetspot. I also don't think it makes sense that hitting hit every hit of ex-u-special does 12% to you while only dealing 13% to the opponent, the regular version does 12% to the opponent; you can keep the knockback nerfs on ex-u-special since it was overtuned, but it should do way more dmg to justify you taking nearly the same percent to yourself.

OK, so the angle change on ex-dair makes it so hitting a grounded a opponent makes it impossible to follow up on the subsequent spike off the ground like it used to, it literally sends the opponent flying behind you eliminating all chances at further conversions.

Another suggestion, his EX version of N-special is often still trashed by opponents since they can just keep attacking him while in armor and Blaze will get interrupted between the frames of the armor ending and the actual attack starting, happens way more often than you think if you even bother trying to go for the gimmick kill; i'd say make the armor last the whole duration of the attack. Definitely his least used moved due to lack of practical utility, which is a shame considering you aren't exactly swamped with move options in platform fighters, it's not like tekken where a 100 moves can be niche to useless and that's just fine since you've got 700 moves total.

I knew something felt off after no major changes since febuary last year with the input EX changes, but he got a bunch of nerfs making basically every attack less effective than it used to be with the exception F-special which has a rework, but it's probably either a lateral change or worse. (I was wondering why double tapping F-special wasn't doing the Ex version anymore.

Still no reworks or additions to how his fireball works which has been a lack luster tool since it's inception, or at least lacking in depth, certain suggestions I made like a year ago; Basically add a layer of powering up the projectile like making it multihit and or a bigger projectile if you hit it with a strong or -N-special or something. I still retain that the active frames on Blaziken's D-strong is way too short, make it more active so you can catch people rolling better for more utility, seems fair with how much endlag it has and how poor a kill move it is.

very very cool designs and fun af character. i absolutely love him, although i wish he felt more fluid and that some of his moves were different (im not a fan of his down special tbh and since he's basically like captain falcon you could make his animations a little faster/him a little faster/running animation look cooler) idk just trying to give constructive criticism/my opinions take them how you will. tysm for making this you're awesome dude :D

I know I've asked this before and the character probably won't receive any other updates, but Blaziken's d-strong has way too little active frames for how long the animation is, including the endlag; could you at least make it useful for correctly guessing a techroll? So far it's only good for confirms off other hits since the duration is so long and active frames so short. Up-strong just doesn't kill well for how small and bad the angle is, you'll miss if the opponent is right above you and the startup and endlag are pretty long for it; Probably my least used strong.

@Flarrythe1st: You are not the only one, the updat eof yesterday caused some mods to get the scaling off from some characters.
I've fixed it to put the game in a older version, you will find some other modded characters with the same problem.
Bullet Bill was another one and some others.

I like where this character is coming from, but I do feel like its a bit... overtuned, right now. Even if I take recoil damage using it, I don't exactly feel like being able to take a stock with a boosted f-strong at 30 is exactly kosher. That being said, like I said I do really enjoy the idea of boosting damage by taking recoil, and I'm curious to see more.

Also, apparently Blaziken is tiny now? When I enter a match, Blaziken is about half its usual size. Pretty sure this is a bug with the newest version.

The second point is that circular hitbox with the X in it that pops up for the Back Air. I do not know if that's an intentional reference to a move or not, just pointing out that it might look better without to match the kit style.

Overall it looks absolutely amazing though, the EX fire effects are very well done. Like using this character quite a bit!

Apologies if this is too bold, but I do happen to have a couple notes about the animation.

First is that something about the Down Air reads slightly weird visually. Whether it was intended to be a knee drop or an exaggerated zoom kick, I am not totally sure, my guess is leaning toward the prior. But either way, it's very noticeable when doing a Dair from high up that it looks a little bare in terms of detail, it might benefit from a couple frames of differing animation. I think it's just the mix of it being an already pretty still frame for an otherwise very fluid character, and the lack of any differing colors around the knee area, even if just some shading with a darker red. I would say the shape is somewhat odd, but I do understand going for an exaggerated sharp look for style, just thinking it could maybe need a little more.

Are you planning to work on any other Pokemon? This and Golem are some of the most polished mods in this game, find myself playing them a lot. Aggron would be absolutely sick, but that's just my vote lol. Plenty of good mons like Hitmontop, Sandshrew, Tropius, etc. would be sick.

His normal d-tilt feels a little stubby compared to all the other leg sweeping d-tilters there are when you take into account how tall blaziken is.

Another suggestion: At lower percents opponents fall out of the 3 string jab easily, especially heavies who can both tech in the middle of the string or use an attack of their own to interrupt once they touch the ground (I've seen this more often against Saji). I'd say make Blaziken's jabs do more hitstun to alleviate this issue, plus it'll allow him to consistently combo into a tilt from either jab 1 or jab 2 like Greninja can (just an example since his jabs are consistent).

Thank you for your feedback! I think we can include an option to have both in a future update, and some of the other points raised on the comments as well.

Also FAir is meant to work similar to Forsburn's FAir, including the angle

If including both is unfeasible, I would suggest to just increase the window the double tap input could be read on N-air and B-air instead, getting them off consistently with the tap style are the only trouble some ones.

I think the launch trajectory of F-air should send more forward since it just does the same thing as up-air but worse.

An option where you can activate Enhanced attacks with both the double tap and parry during the start up would be very appreciated; I usually play with the double tap option, but generally all the normals and tilts are less consistently activated this way due to the low start up, utilizing both methods at once would be great.

Could you maybe increase the damage of enhanced moves? I didn't look at all of them but hitting someone with enhanced forward special puts me down 2%. This wouldn't be a huge deal if the trade off was high knockback, but I don't find it be knocking them back so far as to make it viable in most scenario's. really I find myself doing better to not use the enhanced versions at all.

It would be cool if the will o wisp acted as Maypul's Lili when not hit, that way it could act even more as a stage hazard and people could chose to hit it back or parry it

I'm glad you guys are enjoying the character, we'll be balancing Blaziken more going forward, however we probably won't mess with the EX cooldown too much
