Finally! Looks great, can't wait to properly experience it, really. Also I'm pretty sure Xen in the actual Half-Life universe was discovered extremely recently. I'm talking a few years before HL1.

@^Doctor Primrose^ Breengrub is not canon, and it never was, Laidlaw said so. We don't know where the Combine comes from, that's the point, it's a mystery much like the Xenian races and the Vortessence

@^Doctor Primrose^ @DWBoyGamer i would happen to know about that combine origination you speak of! From what i recall, it was essentially a species that over a very long period of time and technological advancement, they became their technology. They could not support themselves anymore without enhancement. As for the virus side, yes, the advisors were a very powerful psychic race, which became infected by a parasite which attacked their psychic network and prevented their growth beyond the grubs we see as advisors. The parasite is specifically said to be a "rogue thought" given they traded thoughts as currency, in essence.

@Songbird You should try reinstalling the mod from scratch and verifying integrity of the file integrity just in case. Extremely weird bug. We were actually going to add that HL1 camo for the initial anniversary update but we decided not to do it because lack of map replacements to implement their zombie variants, now that those are in development we decided to bring the concept back.

@^Doctor Primrose^ Official lore indeed doesnt say anything about when BMRF discovered Xen, Blue Shift kinda hints at it happening sometime during 70s or 80s but we wanted to move it at earlier date for reasons. Should make more sense when we release the extended lore guide. That Combine origin is new to me though. I doubt its official canon but it is interesting idea for sure.

@DWBoyGamer Yeah, I've been checking the files of my installation of BMCER (and related mods) and everything seems to be in order. Since this is only effecting DOE berets, I'll just replace them with 8point's in the character manifest.

Speaking of the DOE marines, I love that you brought back the splitter camo.

I don’t know as much about half life one’s deepest darkest lore (in part bc there probably isn’t as much to know about in actual cannon) but I know some deep hl2 stuff like how the combine (or at least some part of it) originates from a virus that turned once peaceful creatures crazed and obsessed with cybernetic modification

@Yamcha If you are referring to the rucksack clipping thru the ground, thats intentional. It also happens with the human models since you can toggle the rucksack off of them. Map replacements will feature a DOE zombie (which is actually seen already in one of the renders in the description here) which wont have the rucksack so I couldnt have collision box for the rucksack

@Songbird Yeah those are all DOE berets. I dont know why they are missing, I rechecked the mod includes beret materials and textures even for DOE.

@Continuous λ It was done for consistency with the other zombies. In general the zombies in vanilla game look like they have been in that state for ages despite the fact the game takes place during the time span of just few days, so I tried to make them look bit fresher this time around.

I absolutely love this mod! I really liked the jaw thing in guard zombies, though. A unique detail that makes them slightly different from other zombies.

@^Doctor Primrose^ Breen appears in Inbound as cameo. No idea if BMRF even realised they were way over their head with the whole exploring of another dimension business, but to be fair it was discovered during early Cold War so US wanted any edge over Soviets they could get, no matter the risks.

@Hgrunt Medic Both normal male Black Ops and Black Ops pilot will be released alongside the map replacements when ever those are ready for release, we dont really have any use for them in the mod before that update drops.
