Great ship but for some reason in the weapons control room the gun camera glitches and fuzzes. Any idea why? Nice pfp btw chris

The main gun also appears to glitch when you set it to radar assist. It endlessly rotates. Quite odd

In the Newest Update, the Boat when starting it up revs all the way and blows up the engines. I followed all instructions and it just keeps blowing up

great boat all round, just the ciws don't seem too interested in actually aiming anywhere near the helicopter that is blowing me to smithereens. Is there something im doing wrong?

Der Doktor - Thanks, appreciated. There is engine cut off button in the engine control room, just switch off the valves. In the Fire/Bilge station across from the hospital, there are fuel cut off switches for both the jet and diesel engines.

Sealpup55/Yenguc Usta - I hear what you're saying. I'll take a look for at installing another system for air defence, i installed them as the best looking and most in proportion to the vessel, they can be temperamental. The forward missiles are homing missiles towards a sea target within 30 degrees of the bow. I'll test that tonight just to make sure no updates have interfered with it and if so, I'll alert the guy that designed the missiles. i like the looks and funtions of this ship but it is very vunlable to air enemys and i would recommend getting a new air defence as they dont lock on very well but other then the air defence i like it. :steamthumbsup:

when everything is activated it is still highly vulnerable to air targetst, when we come to manual operating, it is even harder to use because there aren't any sights on CIWS and it is only effective in incredibly close ranges when operating in manual, these are all the problems in the destroyer which makes it lose aagainst the most of the enemy but it is still good at taking down the sea targets and land targets by the cannon, it is really good and if you use it properly, it is incredibly effective, it is mainly vulnerable to air targets rather than land targets.

I really like this destroyer but radar doesn't seem to target well, even when I launch missiles as ordered, it doesn't seem to hit the target, it usually hits the water and can't target both land and air targets, and in CIWS, radar sometimes detect but usually don't when we test it in a battle or a mission or when I fly an enemy helicopter against it, it sometimes shoot and sometimes doesn't,
it seems to not track when it detects it and shoots in bursts, this makes it take like 2-3 minutes to even take down a still helicoper, other than that the machineguns can't aim upwards and it makes it completely vulnerable to any air targets because CIWS can't take them down

I've updated the phalanx system, just ensure that radar targeting is selected and it will do it's best to wipe out the AI.

Okay, I have one more issue though. I was attacked by the AI but the phalanx CIWS did not seem to lock on correctly on them even tho they were right next the ship and not very far away

iulykenoby - They are anti-ship missiles and tested thoroughly with no issues. keep the target ship within 30 degrees of the bow and no issue. The breakers are in the control room as this is where they are on ships. I'd recommend, as this is what I do, upon spawning the ship, enter the ship through the hatch at the rear of the ship, walk through the steering gear room and into the engine control room where you can start generator, turn on breakers etc. You can operate the engine from the bridge though! :steamhappy:

Also why are the breakers to turn systems on all the way at generator room? makes the ship soo vulnerable if you spawn near AI because it actually takes a lot of time to get to that room switch the breakers on and enable radar sonar and shoot

I must say that the missiles are useless. There were helicopters everywhere near the ship and the missiles went up and straight into the sea

Hi Yenguc - You need to point the ship roughly towards the target. The missile has about a 30 degrees tracking radius from the bow so if a target is in there, it will find it and kill it!

@Bobbones - That's some good additions! I like the store room and helideck work. Took me a while to realise that the helideck camera is orientated on its side so if you attach a monitor, it shows the wrong way! Cool!

I’m using someone else’s heli at the minute, quite new to stormworks so, still learning how everything works. But, it’s a wildcat and it fits perfectly in the hangar, just need to edit that with a folding rear haha. Something else I need to learn hahah

@TheChrisBrown Just seen these, Looks amazing! Not sure if you want to see but, i have made a couple of sort of visual edits to it also. Obviously not re distributed this. I've put a fold down fence on the helideck, Made the rear spare room into a bigger stores room. added winches to the helideck so it can keep the heli there, with the boat in the hamgar, cant really use that to store the heli with that taking all the room up haha

Hey buddy. This ship is amazing, so well detailed. Any chance i can make a few suggestions? At the rear of the ship, you have it slightly slanted, which does look pretty nice, but, on the real ship its squared off. Not sure if this is something that could be put in? Thanks!

@BenTender - Thanks man, appreciate it! He is, I have been watching his videos. At the moment no helis but it does have the hangar, tie downs and refueling station should you wish to use them. I'm looking at a Lynx and some rails to be the final addition, but I have limitations with my PC.

I've individually and collectively tested everything and no matter what, I can't get them to explode so would be good to see what you are seeing.

@TheChrisBrown, no im not, its just the engine room goes over the overheat mark and then begins to explode, the engine sounds like the gear ration is off but idk, the levers on the throttles on the clutch all are on a partial and not closed, so that might be one problem, i try to get the engines running without the ship moving, then once the engines are spolled up and good to go ill go and move the ship out, i also want to do some testing from the arctic biome to the mainlands in one trip if it can handle it, other than that its a great ship

@archangel777, I'm sorry but I can't replicate the issue. Even keeping the throttle to maximum and clutch closed, it will only go up to a temp of 96 and the alarm sounding, but not explosion. Temperature reduces and stabilises on opening the clutch and engaging the prop shaft. I've also had a few friends try it on different physics settings etc without issue.

To double check, in the engine room with breakers on and a generator started, you select an engine such as M/E No.1 for example. You press the toggle button "M/E No.1 Pumps and Valves" so that the screen comes on and all pumps/valves switch on. Then, pressing the push button "M/E No.1 start" the engine should spool up. Once you set throttle to max and open clutch, it should move the vessel with no issue. Are you doing anything different?

i hate to say it but every time i start it up, and im doing it right the engines explode, idk if u had overheating enabled but i do and i cant use a ship with a dead engine room
