i found the camp (after 30 tries) but I dropped bombs, rockets even cannon runs on them and used the targeting pod to check they were all dead but still didn't get that the task was finished for some reason

Was hard at first to find that enemy camp but once you find it, your only challenge now is to drop those bombs accurately. The best part of this mission was the CSAT Interception. Had some pretty fun Top Gun moment there the inverted flying on top of the aircraft. Although I was a bit too fast so I was only able to do it for like 2-3 seconds.

Was optimistic about this scenario at first but it was really disappointing and frustrating. The Anti air asset at the start ruins the gameplay and entirely inhibits you from finding the base. If that was removed or given an ammo max at 2 or 3 it would be way more realistic and enjoyable.

@S-Array O3 Thanks for the feedback! I now have added additional information for finding the camp and effectively reduced the search radius by including more intel on the position (see change notes). Also fixed a bug where the camp did in fact generate on the world corner (sorry to all who had this happen!).
The flares being detected as hostile is part intended, as both sides I imagine are really jumpy and part laziness because I would have to make an exception for flares being fired in the code which I didn't bother to do :steambored: .
For a long time I did not know about the airbrakes either, but they really help when landing or when attacking ground targets :lunar2020confidentrooster:

I did find it on the second run. But still it's really well hidden. In my opinion there should at least be a tip telling you what you're looking for, is it a building, is it two tents in the middle of the woods...? Especially since it's an area with a lot of hills. You might be looking at the right spot but not see anything because there's terrain in the way.

So I played through the thing once and unti lreading the comments I legit thought there was no camp and that you having to hover around until you get shot at by manpads was by design.

Also The CSAT plane started being hostile after I missclicked my flares, is that realted or did I fly in too close too fast?

I liked the checklist at the begining, it taught me we had airbakes in arma lol

Good job overall though I really wish the camp wasn't so well hidden. Liek others I've done multiple passes with and without thermals but nothing.
Here's hoping I find it on the secodn try!

@Muistivyöhyke Haha good job :) Finding the camp is the challenge for this task, getting an exact location and simply bombing the camp would have been too easy in my opinion.

I just can't find the damn camp. I've tried both thermal imagings and nothing. Absolutely nothing. I've even tried to pinpoint the place using the missile-firing indicator, trying to see where it's being fired but even in the same sessions, it seems to be fired from differnet places and it's just completely impossible.

@Corey hmm I tested it very thoroughly and it never did not spawn. It may be though that it is at a location where it is really hard to find, covered by trees and/or behind a hill thus hard to spot from the air. Nonetheless you should be able to complete the mission without completing the task.

@Shugah Bear =VX9= Thank you! The Buzzard is harder to play without a laser marker and a targeting camera that can't look at your six. Makes it stand out from the NATO Wipeout and the CSAT Neophron.

@Frankabyte It is meant to be difficult but not impossible (and not frustrating). My tip would be to check with both white and black hot; with black hot the terrain is more identifiable. Also fly at about 500m, I think thats the best height for Arma's graphic to not be too void of details. Also if you are spotted by the enemy and take too long the task should cancel.

I may be dumb, but I have spent over an hour flying around in circles in the designated area looking for the camp but only see trees, rocks, and old buildings. Am I missing anything, or is it supposed to be difficult to spot?

@SeaCaptainJim Thanks for the feedback! It is the AO of the patrol that is hinted to in the briefing text. I left it in on purpose as to give the player an idea of where one part of the ground operation takes place beforehand.

@ChrisPBacon Thanks for the feedback! Should have fixed that issue now; the AI had problems with the flyInHeight command and not coming back to it's assigned height after turning I think. Thanks for the report!

I found this mission very challenging and enjoyed it a lot, despite the fact that I failed most of the objectives.
I did find one issue that made this mission a little bit frustrating. The CSAT plane that needs to be intercepted enters a holding pattern at some point. Once it does that it is virtually impossible to approach, because the turning radius of the Buzzard is way larger than that of the CSAT plane. I ended up shooting it down. Maybe the CSAT plane could continue to circumnavigate the island or the loiter radius could be made a bit bigger.

This mission is very good to practice flying. (I also liked the randomized aspects.)
I can't wait to see more of these. :)
