Is it normal to have three shield bursters come in one pod? Because dear god, I pulled three with the shield sitrep, and that was an instant retreat/wipe.

Yes, that is normal. The Bio Bursters special bash is armour shredding upto 99 - as in all of it, followed by an acid DoT. The Acid DoT is only suppose to do 2 damage max though, so that does seem off.
You can adjust the shredding numbers in the config if you wish.

So an Advanced Paladin Bio Burster just shredded *** 8 *** armor from a SPARK Guardian with a shield bash. This caused Acid Burn for 5 points right after. Is this supposed to happen? Shredding 8 armor in a single attack seems a tiny bit too much.

i luv this mod but i think the range for the poion fire etc is way too much. Shielder isnt even on my screen, he's in another room and i got lit on fire. Especially the poison one, its hardcore.

That's a good idea actually, it adds to their uniqueness and adds more urgency to take them down as quick as possible :)

XCOM finally has its own Scavenger class of enemy.

I had this happen a little while ago as well. A shield burster picked up loot from a dead enemy.

Not literally walked up and gave it, said it was picked up like when you take loot, crouch down, pick up and accept it.

Just had something odd happen, a shield burster picked up dropped loot from a killed purifier right beside him and gave it to me, bug report.

This looks so cool, It was a cool design choice to use the Muton skins and i think it compliments them more in terms of uniqeness. Are you planning to do similar use of skins for enemies? That has so much untapped potential:)

Just wondering, is it compatible with A Better ADVENT: WotC? I’m assuming so, but I’m not sure whether or not that mod has similar enemies to these.

You can find that in the mods localisation (\Localisation\xcomgame.int) file easily enough.
[xxxxxxx X2CharacterTemplate]

You can find the MOD ID in the 'share' button/address bar.. its the ID at the end
(or right click the mod in AML and choose "open in explorer") .. to get to the mod files.

Technically they are Bureau Mutons, but the armour design still looks 'plated bulky Advent' to me
They still drop AdventShieldBearer corpses, and the design was still for them being 'beefier' Shieldbearers ... so ...

They can be both right?

@RustyDios Yep, but i don't know how to do it... I never seen code for inventory slots in X2Characters class. Well, i will have to think about it over the weekend.

Well, that's not technically an issue with this mod, that's on your change. You'd also need to update ALL enemies using ammo to have an AmmoPocket, and then move their inventory loadouts so their ammo is in their pocket.

Heh, found problem. I just changed inventory slot for ammo items from _Utility to _AmmoPocket and now all enemy with ammo in loadout don't receive bonuses from it.

@RustyDios I think there was more than one so I really could not determine how long the shields last; I just noticed that every unit I saw had a shield. Thanks for getting back to me. These guys provide a lot of shield making them a high priority target.

Pretty sure they expire after 5 turns, unless you are using a mod to change that.
Although these guys are not in the CI Phalanx sitrep (the one that gives you shieldbearers, is just normal shieldbearers I think)

@RustyDios Do the shields provided to friendly units ever expire without destruction of the providing unit? The Strategy Overhaul includes a sitrep that places a shield bearer in every pod. Shield bearers appear early enough that the extra shields may be difficult to deal with with just magnetic weapons, especially on timed missions.

Whilst a good suggestion, I won't be adjusting the base Shieldbearer at all in this mod. He hasn't "earned" his Paladin Shield ... .. lol ... think of the base one as the 'rookie' ShieldBearer... lol
