Works fine on 1.5, btw it's also possible to grow water plants from vanilla extended - more plants by adding:

@Kayedon: If you don't want to do the updoot I could do it at least until the Vanilla Expanded team add it on their side. Gets people out of your hair at least.

Ultimately, I don't want to update this to 1.5, because it's as stated, a simple patch. It would make the most sense for the developer of the Lakes/etc mods to incorporate it on their end, so I've reached out. If no dice there, I'll see if Vanilla Expanded wants to include it directly in Fishing. If still no dice, I'll update it and continue to bloat your mod lists with one more tiny little tweak. :)

Guys, it's a simple patch mod, it'll work fine without an update provided that nothing major changed in the dependency mods. Just try it and you'll see.

Vanilla Factions Expanded - Medieval physically changes the terrain to water as if it had always been water. You should be able to draw a fishing zone over it!

Does this, or could it perhaps also work with Vanilla Factions Expanded - Medieval, since Moats was integrated into it? Or is that already a thing, being from the same modpack? Regardless, great work! I've seen so many people that wanted this. Considering just downloading Lakes, just to use this mod, so kudos!

Please, would you consider adding compatibility to support NaturalFloors (Continued) ? Personally, I prefer using that mod to create water tiles. The Natural Lakes and Lakes mods also do that. However, those lake mods only require work to dig (no water requirement), while the water tiles created in NaturalFloors also require building a "well" and colonists hauling water.

The fish got there thanks to the other mod that causes floods once in a while :D It's absolutely perfect for my map, thank you!
