Necromancers appear to be able to place down graveyards far outside the range of any citadels. This should probably be looked at.

Hey, love the mod. Great job and so many brilliant ideas

Though I'm very unhappy about my favourite girl Dryad Queen.

The buffs are very appreciated. Great javelins, increased spawn rates, a couple new rituals, but autoupgrading is really ruining the gameplay for me.
1) it removes the ability to customize your armies for a specific tasks (especially when you have a fast centaur army, that suddenly stops being fast)
2) I never find myself in a position where I need to conquer a city to upgrade my troops, they're already upgraded


In vanilla the whole free-spawn + upgrading was definitely off-tuned and it was just "call of the Gaya" faction. You did a remarkable job fixing similar issues in other factions, but I feel like auto-upgrading really needs to be exchange for another buff.


P.s.: I know that this mod is probably not updated for multiple years already, but probably if there is an open code base, I could try to figure it out and submit a merge request.

"Vanilla Sprite Overhaul" it's called I mean, the mod author also has a download link for anyone to use his sprites if given credit on the mod page.

@Commisar - Arh I see, hard position. Hybrid creatures and such also needed, Dom 6 may have what could fit over the nations/era's. Well if there is any help you need in the future welcome to ping me, I can't sprite but for feedback ect or searching Doms for sprites let me know.

A good idea is also to ask the mod author of "Sprite Overhaul" Mod for Dominions 6, he has remade and redesigned all the sprites across all the factions including Monkeys for Dominions 6, amazing sprite work he did.

As for Dom 6 sprites, I could probably cover a number of monkey-based sprites with them, but the plan demon/divine creatures, hybrid units, and some other things can't really be covered by regular monkey sprites.

No, no sprite work was slated for any other faction. The monkey faction just sort of got added to CoE at the 11th hour and Emperor Herb didn't have the time to do sprites anymore, which meant that once I had a plan and committed to it, I had no way to carry it out.

@Commisar - I see quite the revamp, was anything else left besides the Monkeys? I know Dominions 6 Has alot of new Monkey Sprites for Bandar Log but I would have to see if any are reused from COE5

It's been a few years, but based on the old design notes... 1-3 two-layer terrain sprites (because I can't use CoE's composite terrain sprite generation due to lack of modding access to it) and about 25-30 unit sprites (and attack sprites, obviously), some 32x32, some 64x64. It was a sizeable batch because the existing monkeys were going to get a complete rebuild from the ground up with a much larger roster.

@Commisar - oh for sprinting, I’m not up to par for vanilla quality. How much is needed? I was looking at the To-Do list in the mod folder and got curious,

Sprites from Dom 5/6 to be kitbashed into it?

For Druid would there be any way to make ancient forests count as citadels? I feel their hut is completely unimportant to their game, besides the fact that loosing it looses them the game.

This happens when you start a modded game and retire. After retiring when trying to start another modded game, for some reason the mod isn't loaded.

Not sure why this happens. Just know that you have to completely exit the game if you want to start another modded session

Sometimes when i start as Necromancer I have the new starting units mentioned in the notes, but other times I have regular spearmen and archers, what is the reason for that?

I found out what the problem was, they already moved that turn and i didnt notice.

Now im struggling with the enchanter ability "Emergency Swampification" no idea how it works, it just spawns a tower

Is it just your goblin archers, @Jakori? Cuz that doesn't sound right, purely from a mechanical standpoint. Experience level shouldn't be giving just one type of unit a slower speed.

I might have missed something, but why do my goblin archers get slower when they are experienced?

From a normal 3 speed on the map, to a solid 1.....

Burnout is finally starting to fade, so I'm thinking about the waste of time from fixing everything from scratch again.

Unfortunately, that also means that I once again need a spriter because the last person to offer ghosted me and Herb still isn't playing ball. Oh, well. The benefit of starting from the last published patch is that I can just ignore the monkeys or only make minor changes.

I havn't played the Dwarf race under this mod so I don't know how the machanics work. From what you described it sounds like the base unit that is used to upgrade to higher tier units is the "Dwarf" and you're wondering if it can instead be the "Dwarf Worker" that is used?

I don't know a mod that fixes this but it would require a slight bit of work changing the recruitment options and their requirements. Not too much work though. Commisar has a tutorial guide on how to create mods that really helped me out.

You should try taking a swing at it and see

Dwarf race required dwarfs to upgrade troops rather than dwarf workers. I love this mod and want to use it though does anyone know a way to fix this or a mod that fixes it?

To answer the burning question (pun not intended):
My rig burned down about six weeks ago due to losing the silicon lottery, taking down my work, backups, and half of the tile in my office. While I could start over from the last version on my laptop or after my Thanksgiving trip to the US, I'm honestly not feeling it on account of the data loss."

So yeah, the mod is done being updated from here on out.

whoops forgot to post my mod here like I promised. I would call it an extension of this mod and even fixes some of the bugs I noticed that the creator "Commisar" hasn't gotten around to fixing yet. Hope y'all enjoy
