@Emilie Sackenball No. Its just an addition, functions along side Gold, Silver, and any other resource. Been a long time almost forgot I made this mod.

Do this directly remove the use of silver as currency? like if you sell stuff you get paid directly in coins?

Random Update! Mod was still fully functional prior however I've updated it to 1.5 and got rid of an error. Appreciate the patience!

is this working for 1.5?
RetailPale  [author] Jul 6, 2023 @ 5:03pm
@Blorpmeister Good point! I don't think it will be to difficult to add. I will be working on it shortly. :) Appreciate your kind words.
Blorpmeister Jul 6, 2023 @ 12:15pm
Oh I get the steel being more accessible for tribals and medieval, but some people(myself included) use mods that make steel more rare or difficult to make. Wood coins were a real thing as well, and works as a great stopgap until you can make or spare the steel.

I have absolutely no criticism of this mod. It's great, I love it. There's so few coinage mods that don't require a bunch of stuff, and this one is simple and to the point.

@Blorpmeister I'm glad you enjoy the mod. I actually added steel coins for people that wanted currency specifically for Medieval gameplay, but I kinda thought it would benefit tribal gameplay as well but then again I haven't really gave it that much thought.

Those are pretty good ideas though they won't necessarily bring anything new as they seem to just compliment what already exist but nonetheless I like it and will probably work on it soon.

I honestly love this mod, and use it a lot. It's a good way to set up multiple currencies for a multi-ideo or split colony that values resources in differing ways.

My suggestions-

Wood Coins- Simple to make, good for early trade if you have excess wood as a tribal.

Jade Coins- Rare but valuable. Seen as incredibly beautiful, and require stonecutting.

Silver coins- Pretty much 1:1 with silver, but with a slight improvement due to the minting. Coins are easier to count and trade as opposed to raw silver, after all.

really tks for that =.=
RetailPale  [author] Mar 7, 2023 @ 4:12pm
Late reply, but only did it for you haha. Been such a huge help since the very beginning and I can understand the weird RimWorld phase coming in and out, 1 month not touching it at all then suddenly playing it dam near full time lmfao. I'm glad I could help. I didn't really change much besides sprites at this point and visual xml claiming it was out of date when really it was just as functional as it is now. If you want me to add more I will obviously give it a go. Sadly this doesn't seem to be the most desirable mod but I'm glad at least 100+ people still find it subscribe worthy. Considering this was just a random idea I had 1 day. :)

tks for the update :3

yay, tks :3

No harm in me updating it a bit. Liked creating content I just am in the middle of a move so to speak and I dont exactly have access to any of the files from the actual mod as far as the Raw files go but Ill see what I can do.
Zargachi Mar 1, 2023 @ 7:11pm
yeah, i liked it cuz it whas exactly a differenct currency, and worked well for tribal/medieval colonies, the only other mod i have similar would be Rimbank, it add banknotes that value 1000 silver, but is strange for tribals and medieval people to have them XD
RetailPale  [author] Mar 1, 2023 @ 7:04pm
Really ? I mean its really not even that its "discontinued" its just that I was no longer working on it. Is there anything specific you were looking forward too ? Generally speaking the mod is complete as far as it being an additional currency.
Zargachi Mar 1, 2023 @ 12:41pm
sad it was discontinued...

I'm currently involved at developing this mod, so I can freely take your notes, suggestions and feedbacks, and properly tune and tweak the required values. I also can answer to questions about current balancing, since I created most of new XML (and so I know why I did this or that thing).

As Android said, be aware on future tweakings and stuff.

@Umbra No worries pretty much same with me also.
Zargachi Nov 8, 2021 @ 6:34am
gonna take a look later, i stopped playing rimworld for a while to wait more mods to update...
RetailPale  [author] Nov 8, 2021 @ 6:31am
@Umbra thanks a lot for you feedback and even previously, I am pretty much aware of all the existing problems now but please note anything you find. No worries though they will be updated as soon as possible. Both me and The Manual pretty much have complete opposite time zones so it can be kinda tough to coordinate these things but when we can we will have it done.
Zargachi Nov 8, 2021 @ 6:23am
cool :3

Electrum Base has just received what is pretty much a complete overhaul xml wise. Electrum is now mine-able and can be found within the world. Coin values have also heavily been changed as well as their blue prints. Big Thanks to The Manual for making this all happen.

Note : I am currently aware that some of the values right now are too low however White Gold is still primarily profitable, and this update was mainly a structure for the future and likely final update. There was a huge problem previously with balance so we are on the route to tuning it perfect. Thanks Everyone!

@Umbra I will fix it. I am busy working on another mod so it's been hard to notice the finer things that's why I appreciate you sharing this.
Zargachi Oct 19, 2021 @ 12:35am
well, the price still quite high... 100gold + 50silver + 50 steel, total price of 1000 + 50 + 95 = 1145, the coin value is 1000 so, you lost 145 making the coin... certanly it is less than before, but still a loss, and this is if you make the coin, electrum itself costs only 800 witch is a loss of 345... also, the electrum coin takes too much time to make compared to the electrum it-self.
RetailPale  [author] Oct 17, 2021 @ 7:36pm
@Umbra Just letting you know that the required materials have been adjusted. Changed it a few days ago was just too busy too upload apologize about the timing. PLEASE let me know what you honestly think in the suggestions. I am looking to fine tune things like this so it is important that you drop information on there if youd like.
Zargachi Oct 13, 2021 @ 11:29am
oh, ok then
RetailPale  [author] Oct 13, 2021 @ 9:58am
@Umbra You are correct, and I've said this before "It's not really worth making". Even though that doesn't really make sense it was just a place-holder primarily because I want Electrum to be mine-able in the future and kinda just added parts of it in sooner. Maybe not Electrum or the Electrum coins then assuming your making it all from scratch but given the faction relation-ship everything else should be profitable. I am going to change it very soon appreciate you pointing that out.
Zargachi Oct 12, 2021 @ 8:30pm
to be worse, the recipe just yield 1 electrum, 1 electrum costs 800 silver, the 1000 steal alone costs 1900 silver, more than double , so this is a really expensive way to void resourses? or just a really bad mistake?
Zargachi Oct 12, 2021 @ 4:14pm
hum.... why does electrum cost 1000 steal, 10 uranium and 10 jade in adition of the 30 silver and 50 gold that should be the only thing to make electrum alloy...?
RetailPale  [author] Oct 3, 2021 @ 11:42am
This mod doesnt replace Gold or Silver, Electrum is probably worse off than the two I just have a concept behind it for currency. Any addition relevant to this mod will be medical or jewlery related. Id still suggest using Gold or Silver for weapons and armor as it would be pretty much the same thing.
El_Chibre Oct 3, 2021 @ 1:26am
Could you make weapons or armor out of the materials ? Asking for CE compatibility
The Rabid Otter Oct 2, 2021 @ 1:46pm
I suppose that deposits of electrum could also be imagined to be archeological findings. That's usually how I imagine component mines.
RetailPale  [author] Oct 2, 2021 @ 12:28pm
@The Rabid Otter You could be right but based off google "a natural or artificial alloy of gold with at least 20 percent silver" this was a new discovery myself but mostly for the name the initial release wasn't intended to be accurate. I'm still working on it and trying to update it within the next few hours. Thanks for the feedback!
The Rabid Otter Oct 2, 2021 @ 12:09pm
I thought electrum was an amagagm of two other precious metals, and not natural but the product of smelting/refining the two metals. Granted, this is based on my ca. 40 years of D&D experience, so I could be wrong.
RetailPale  [author] Oct 2, 2021 @ 10:45am
Why do you say that ?
Hood Oct 2, 2021 @ 10:13am
Yay now I can get rid of vanilla expanded
