This was exactly what I needed to keep a pawn's pet pig alive. Thanks!

The mod should still work. I just added the 1.5 tag.

@Dorsai! Any news if this will be updated?

Will this be updated soon for the newest update?

@Tommy Gray x Land Raider
It is possible but it would require some C# coding which is past the scope of this mod. This mod is very, very simple, just a few lines of XML.

I wonder if we could have a lighter version of this: Bonded Animals are Smart. Now animals that are bonded now have trainability from basic, intermediate, or advanced, depending on animal. Furthermore, they will no longer wander off as long as the bonded person is in the same map. Non-bonded animals still require a pen and may wander off.

@Evono Just added the 1.4 tag and verified in-game that areas are assignable. The mod is very simple so everything should be fine. If something breaks with Biotech or new 1.4 stuff, let me know.

any plans for 1.4 ?

Thank you for this. It is so nice not having to deal with 150 animals on a large map tile running away, forcing you to overwork your pawns for 5 days just because you get attacked by some sappers or a stray shot from a hunter destroys a single fence piece.

Thank you so much for this mod! I hate the stupid game update that had me drag animals back to the corral 20x a day because I could no longer assign them zones. Especially because I use giddy up and half of my animals are mounts. Thanks to your mod they now return autonomously to their corral. I can once again protect my baby animals from predators by assigning them to the barn. It's beautiful! Thanks again!

@FlorestNerd With this mod, all animals are able to fight (if trained). The patch really is very simple, just 2 operations, I encourage you to take a look at it. It's a blanket approach that treats all animals the same: If the Animal has a trainability of None, then set it to Intermediary and remove the requirement of pens.

If this isn't balanced or realistic enough for you and you'd like a more granular approach, then there is that other mod for that.

In 1.2 all Animals (including chickens) were always able to defend against Insectoids, even without training, because you could just zone them around. I myself play with the pen-system on 1.3, but I've made this for a friend who just prefers playing that way.

Another question, im i able to modify if x animals is capable of training in defending and atacking? Because it is really wierd that my 20 chickens can win a insectoid attack better than my pawns
NRFBToyStore Oct 11, 2021 @ 5:37am
@trajda I recommend, NO.
Dorsai!  [author] Oct 8, 2021 @ 10:30am
@FlorestNerd Yes, with this mod they can move freely unless restricted with a zone like it was in 1.2. If you just want to be able to train animals and still put them in pens, I suggest you use the mod recommended by trajda.

Hey, i dont know why but when i load this mod in my game, the animals can scape their places (inside fences)
