Higher-tier Neki Claws (T4 and up) cause bleeding on mobs; since vanilla Starbound does not have a 'blood' liquid, I used the closest thing that it has, which is slime. Stripes uses a high-tier variant of said claws, which also causes enemies to bleed, and that is what you are probably seeing :)
Dym0niter Oct 21 @ 10:05am
is Stripes supposed to turn enemies into slime? even humanoid enemies turn to slime when she's done with them.
StormOfScorpions Oct 12 @ 8:19am
I accidentally hit Alt and saw her tail flash on top of the building, I was not looking up there at all. XD
StormOfScorpions Oct 12 @ 8:09am
Thank you both. I was running around for half an hour trying find her, I read somewhere about spotting her peaking out, but I never saw her so I wondered if it was because the overhaul. I'll make sure look a little closer this time. XD
Juni  [author] Oct 12 @ 7:50am
I made sure she appears in Anom's outpost as well, and even included a few hiding spots for her that only Anom's outpost has :)
You can either play hide and seek with her (takes a few minutes), or hope for her to beam in as a visitor (may take hours), whichever you prefer.
MarshCreature Oct 12 @ 7:46am
From my own experience i found her hiding on the Tech vendor area. Where you first get the tutorial for the morph ball. She hides around the outpost and you can see her little tail peeking out. I dont know if she goes out on the open though.
StormOfScorpions Oct 12 @ 7:39am
Okay, do I have to find them hinted at in Info/Update or do I have to wait for them to warp in?
MarshCreature Oct 12 @ 7:30am
It can. I have that mod and she still shows up. At least for me.
StormOfScorpions Oct 12 @ 7:28am
Can Stripes still show up on Anom's Outpost Overhaul?
Juni  [author] Oct 11 @ 2:50am
Yay! Glad to hear you figured it out \o/
Also, just so you know, character colors will appear to all players in multiplayer, regardless of whether they have your mod installed or not ^-^
Desolate Pond Oct 10 @ 10:22pm
Well, I couldn't find any mod to add the color I wanted on any website or google, so I learned how to do it myself. Wahoo.
Juni  [author] Oct 8 @ 12:44am
A 'goblin mod', that's been brought up before. Ask around, it already exists :)
Other than that, I intentionally avoided using any unnatural skin/fur tones in the mod, because while hair ('fluff', 'mane', etc.) can reasonably be dyed, having an unnatural skin tone just isn't canon for the Neki, I'm sorry.
Desolate Pond Oct 7 @ 7:15pm
Petition to add a green skin tone so I can make neki Meowscarada

@铁板哈斯塔
@BattlePenguin
You'll be able to recruit Stripes again, don't worry :)
铁板哈斯塔 Oct 5 @ 11:42am
I accidentally gave up the task of finding stripes at the outpost. Can I redo this task?
BattlePenguin Sep 24 @ 1:17pm
Accidentally left outpost without fully recruiting Stripes the first time I saw them. Will they eventually respawn or have I lost them completely?
Juni  [author] Sep 22 @ 11:01am
The Engineer and Mechanic should be fairly self-explanatory.
The Murrauder and Purrowler are a sniper and melee respectively.
All of them, however, have a bit of a... feline touch :)
Stripes is a more unique crewmember, and has a slightly more detailed personality.

As for FU - my FU patch ( NekiFU ) does not affect any of the NPCs in any way, and unless FU alters the basic NPC configurations, which the above NPCs partially rely on - they shouldn't be any different. I'm not an expert on FU though, so it's probably best to ask the authors about this.
Stealth Sep 22 @ 9:46am
Sorry if this is already in the mod’s description and I skimmed over it, but what exactly do all of the unique Neki crew members do? And are there any differences to what they do if FU is also installed?
Juni  [author] Sep 22 @ 4:00am
No idea what could be causing that, I'm sorry :(
I've been testing the mod extensively with Wardrobe Interface just prior to my last update, since I've added and re-ordered a lot of items in it, and I don't recall having any issues like that.
Try to remove all other mods, then add them back a few at a time to see when it starts happening - that way you should be able to figure out what causes it :)
Prism Sep 21 @ 8:26pm
Prolly my end with something idk,
but I made a new Neki character today after not touching this game for a hot minute,
and I went to open Wardrobe, and the game freezes for a second, then just out right closes with no msg. no clue which end is the issue, this or wardrobe.
Any ideas what could be cause this?
Juni  [author] Sep 18 @ 8:23pm
@Ducimus
Thank you! ♥ I'm so glad you enjoyed it \^-^/

@Austin
Look in the pinned 'Info/Updates' thread above, it's all in there :)
Ducimus Sep 18 @ 10:09am
Well... mod really spiced up my playthrough as a new player, playing for a close-range assassin with low health but high mobility - looks like something new for me in playstyle, while other races provide poor benefits and just not fitting my personality. (Unless glitch as I started tho, but not much impact from him really) maybe just because Starbound is more fun with mods idk. So... yeah, if there was a mod which provides creator of the mod a medal, I would subscribe on that one too! But here we are have only for a Bossman for a dif game. Anyways, I wish creator good luck :mpn_soldat:
Austin Sep 18 @ 9:51am
How do i get "Stripes" to spawn?
Juni  [author] Sep 9 @ 3:16am
Maybe ^-^
Austin Sep 8 @ 4:14pm
is one of the screenshots a TwoKinds Reference lol
Juni  [author] Sep 8 @ 2:31am
They're not at all difficult to find. Please refer to my previous reply to you, a few messages below, regarding where they can be found :)
As for the mod in question - I know nothing about it, so you'd have to ask its' creator.
REDnBLUmercMANN Sep 7 @ 6:14pm
Are the Neki recruits hard to find? Can they be found on populated planets with the populated planet mod?
Juni  [author] Aug 25 @ 11:53am
No, the Neki recipes are unique to the Neki and, to some extent, the Mechineki.
As mentioned here before, you can craft them on a Neki character and pass on to another character of any other species :)
Aceterix Aug 25 @ 12:50am
Are the Neki recipes able to be obtained with other races? and if so, how?
Juni  [author] Aug 22 @ 2:49pm
Some Outpost visitors will tell you about where they saw other Neki, but if you can't wait to meet them - you can look for them on Tundra planets and in Apex cities .
REDnBLUmercMANN Aug 22 @ 12:53pm
Oh thanks, any hints on how to find them?
Juni  [author] Aug 22 @ 2:48am
There are! They're all listed in the mod description above :)
REDnBLUmercMANN Aug 21 @ 4:59pm
Other than Stripes, is there any other unique Neki recruits?
AgentKirin Aug 18 @ 8:52pm
Understandable. The best I can think of without a ground-up rework would be making them inflict a status that either suppresses contact damage if the target is a monster (would protect against monsters, but have no effect on NPCs' weapons), or reduces the target's attack power to zero for roughly the same duration as the invincibility (protects from NPC melee but also makes their attacks, including ranged, useless on things that aren't you).

If you did want to go the rework route, deflecting bullets with your claws in the direction you're swinging would be fun. Maybe this has "health" like a shield, or consumes energy with each bullet deflected, so you can't just charge into heavy fire all the time.
Juni  [author] Aug 18 @ 8:34pm
Thank you for your feedback ♥
I agree that it makes very little sense for it to be that way.

I've made the claws by taking vanilla 'Fist' weapons and modifying them to the best of my extremely limited ability and understanding - so being invulnerable from all sides isn't intentional, but rather inherited from the way vanilla SB does it.

I'd greatly appreciate any help in adjusting the way it works, which seems like something that'd require a certain degree of additional scripting, because I genuinely wouldn't know where to begin with it, nor do I currently have enough free time to properly figure it out T-T
AgentKirin Aug 18 @ 4:12pm
I've noticed that the player becomes completely invulnerable when using the Neki claws. While I'm pretty sure the intent is to prevent contact damage, it also prevents projectiles from hitting you (including from behind), making it way too easy to get within stunlock-blender range.

Ignoring shotguns and flamethrowers to the face to close the distance is amusing the first time, less so the twelfth time. If you could find a way to fix this - distinguishing damage sources, making the protection directional like a shield, or whatever have you - I'd be the happiest cat in space :3
Juni  [author] Aug 8 @ 3:21am
She'll probably use one hand, same as the Purrowler.
The player claws don't have the combo stuff, and for some reason the NPCs can't figure out how to use them without it :(
Elf Waifu Aug 7 @ 6:13am
Can I give Stripes player claws in crewcustoms or will she only use one hand.
Juni  [author] Aug 3 @ 12:59pm
Yes, she will.
I even configured her to hide behind some objects that are unique to Anom's :)
It's much larger though, so she'll obviously be more difficult to find.
videogamegirl155 Aug 3 @ 12:20pm
Hi Juni, will Stripes appear at the outpost if I am using Anom's Outpost Overhaul?
Juni  [author] Jul 31 @ 9:21am
Her overall design and character are inspired by a rather popular online comic :)
belirahc Jul 31 @ 8:49am
is Stripes a referents to something or a character you made?
n8 Jul 29 @ 12:13pm
i get the cactus now
Juni  [author] Jul 29 @ 1:38am
The Neki, originally, didn't have any armors to begin with, which was by design; they're not a species that'd canonically bother with crafting, and much less things they'd be forced to wear, which would impede their agile and highly sensitive body. Try making your feline friend wear anything, and see what happens.

The way you are/were meant to get by, was by looting/buying armors - the vanilla game includes enough armor sets of all tiers to not ever need to bother crafting any.

The only reason the Neki have any armor sets to begin with, is because I caved in to pressure, which should be clearly reflected in their armors' item descriptions :)
kORVUS Jul 28 @ 10:01am
is it just me or is there no Ferozium/violum/Aegisalt neki armor? The Minikog Neki armor set cost Solarium, so I was wondering how are we meant to get to solarium with Durasteel gear?
kORVUS Jul 25 @ 5:17pm
*gasp*
I FOUND HER
I got a new mission. Forget saving the world. I need to make the best room for the cute thing in my ship. Lavish bed, HERE I COME!
MarshCreature Jul 25 @ 3:02pm
Just found stripes. Simply adorable. Made me want to decorate my ship with the most luxurious cat related things available.
Juni  [author] Jul 25 @ 2:32pm
Awwh, thank you so much! \^-^/

Stripes can hide all around the Outpost (except for the 'creepy room' under the asteroid), look for her tail behind various objects like crates, shops, cupboards, lockers, columns, etc.; if you can't find her for a long time - just leave the Outpost and re-enter it, and she'll hide someplace else.
Hope this helps! ♥
kORVUS Jul 25 @ 11:36am
First, Nekis are officialy a Starbound vanilla race for me. The work in each scan dialogue, ship, interactions even with the Dungeons NPCs like Nuru are AMAZING!

Second, I can't seem to get Stripe at the Outpost. Could I get some help?
Byzod Jun 13 @ 10:39pm
How would I live without these Neki wreaking havoc everywhere wantonnessly
