@Snuggl the hull is separate cuz its a tiny bit broken, it works but not 100%

just loaded it up with just the essentials ( https://puu.sh/KrbGZ.png )and seems to set the color fine on my end
maybe check again and if it still doesnt work send me a modlist or something
maybe some other mod is somehow breaking it

@mentalis: No pressure! You can work on it whenever you have time and energy. I don't play RimWorld for months sometimes myself, even though it's one of my favorite games. 😊

I wrote because of the hulls not being replacable and because of things like the solar modules not setting the material's color. Maybe the hull patch fixes it, i haven't tried it. You might be able to fix everything at some point, just see my comment as from yet another fan of your work ✨

@Miha_metan nah if you want unkillable space fort you need more archotech garbage plus this... 37500 hp per archotech mass archotech hull... if you dont mind trading mobility for defence terraform rimworld lets you build ore blocks... some modded ones are busted in hp value but base games compacted plasteel is 8000 in hp and with that mods replicators you can have a regenerating shield that doesnt use heat and builds itself its as busted as it sounds.

I managed to fix it by removing the lines pertaining to the vents in vet\patches\sos2vet.xml

My ship vents don't change color according to the material, they just stay white. Is there any way to fix that?

to be honest i havent played rimworld in a while but it seemed fine in testing, npc ships just use steel as im not smart enough to make it scale with wealth or anything related

Greetings, I have few questions, as I'm fairly New with Sos2 (just started a game for the first time with it). With this mod, is it save compatible?

How will NPC ships will behave with this mod?

Are they red any errors I should be awared off ?

Although, now that I can make archotech walls, I discovered a minor issue: archotech vents don't match archotech walls. See https://imgur.com/a/FlORv7D . Is that something you can fix on your end with the rgb numbers or is that a base SOS2 issue?

Has anyone ever had an issue with Archotech Ship Beams being un-stuffable? All other beam types (including unpowered archotech ones) can be stuffed, but the drop-down menu for powered Archotech Ship Beams have a drop-down menu of just one item... the beam itself, with no materials modifier. Curious if anyone else ever had this issue.

hmm strange, I do use rimpy for load order sorting. I may try a test world to see if it still continues.

@velxra honestly seems fine for me i loaded those mods and building walls and hull did generate roofs, transition into space also keeped them.
my mod just changes the original items by patching the material requiments. it shoudnt touch any important stuff.
my loadorder is:

Im unsure if its a conflict possible sure. But it was this mod causing the no roof issue.

I use sos2 hull pipes and fuel pipenet for the only other mods that alter/add to sos2.

@Velxra roof seems fine when i load it, the buildcolor should be whatever material is used for construction, changed some stuff for hp.
i also dont see any errors in the console so it seems fine to me beside hp
i loaded just the essentials and the mod so if you load anything else beside it maybe its some conflict?

It also needs a default color build option. But it would be great to see this get fixed up. One the few sos2 accessory mods to exist.

So this doesnt seem to play well with the newest sos2 version. Ship Airlocks and Ship Air Vents both have 500 hp instead of 1000 hp. It also bugs out the ship roof from being detected in space.

yea i found out the reason why its throwing errors because i was using a scenario where you start with a ship right from the start and it turns out it trys to spawn a ship with the normal parts instead of your stuffed parts which is the reason it throws errors

@LordWolfi assumed the worst as i only just noticed the stable version is out on steam and required some other mod to function but after loading just the minimum required by save our ship 2 and this mod it all seemed fine
@Apraxas should be updated

Using this mod with the github 1.4 gives a red error "Config error in ShipCapacitorSmall: is haulable, but does not have an authored mass value"

havent touched rimworld in a while but decided to check if mod was still working.

@gravdal.david it shoudnt affect weapons as its just patching the buildings added by sos2.
if you are playing on 1.4 dont download the workshop version of sos, get the one from github instead https://github.com/SonicTHI/SaveOurShip2Experimental , i just have it in as a requirement as i was originally hoping it would update soon

In case anyone is as picky as I am...Was building a ship with stuffed hulls, using the materials demonscale and arcellum from the RimWorld of Magic mod. The difference in color between the two hull types was...not great, despite one material being red, and the other blue.

Solution:
\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\294100\2592734923\Textures\Things\Building\Linked\ShipBeam
Save a copy of ShipBeam_Archotech_Atlas.png as a backup.
Edit the file with your favorite image editing software.
Fill in the green parts of the hull with white.
Save the file, restart the game. Hulls will now be the color of the original material!

So curiousity has me wondering, SoS2 still says that its not updated to 1.4 yet this mod is does that mean this mod patches sos2 to work in 1.4 or just add the steel mats and how does this work in 1.4 if sos2 does not work in 1.4 yet?

I am having the workbuild amount as 1 too ... I have changed load order moving SOS2 Stuffed from the top (right under SOS2) all the way to the bottom just above rocketman.

Does not seem to fix that thing. It is likely the cause of one of the other SOS2 related mods or perhaps reinforced structures is doing something weird. But other than that extremely OP work amount being set to 1 I can detect no other problems.
