I'm playing the No-VR mod, so I don't have the luxury of poking my head out like in VR. When I come out of cover, I'm dying from just three bullets from the Grunts. x)
With that said, is there a way to reduce the damage of the Combine Soldiers to match the ratio of Normal Difficulty? I don't want to lower the difficulty because I want to keep the reduced damage that the player inflicts on enemies in Hard difficulty.
I found that the damage Alyx inflicts on Hard and the damage the Combine inflicts on Normal is the perfect balance of challenging and fun. Alyx doesn't die instantly, but at the same time, we can't just fool around.
But thats just a detail, this mod is amazing! You made fighting the Combine feel like it should man. I wish Valve had the same respect for the enemy NPCs in their games as you do here. =D
Best wishes
If possible would you be willing to do an alt addon that has everything except maybe don't go so severe on the combine damage.
The grenades that the grunts throw at the player take an absurdly long time to explode and I wish that it would be faster by a couple of seconds or so. Do you think that this is possible using modding tools?
If it is possible could it be a separate mod or would it need to be merged into the merciless collection to work? Thanks as always!
I don't think I will be doing more addons though, I stopped working on them some time ago.
Much like a lot of 'seasoned' VR players: I've got my legs for it, and I don't really get motion sick anymore.
I'm always looking for something new and exciting to do in HL:A [44+ hrs.] and this looks really nice! I agree whole-hearted with what @ex-dee said;
"How I imagine the game was intended to be played, if it didn't have to be dumbed down for beginners to VR.".
I just wanted to say that you did a fantastic job, and I hope to see more addons in the future! You really have a knack for what you're doing! :D
