It does work as of June 2025 and now that the game is fully released, I doubt there'll be any major updates that will fundamentally change how these kinds of mods work (also the dev seems to be diligent in making sure those kinds of updates are as compatible as they can be with old mods!), I've been quietly playing this and updating this mod from time to time, this game holds a special place in my steam library. Feel free to make requests, I just add stuff I think is fun when I feel like it. I think some of the more recent additions is the ability to conjure gifts (of chicken, snowballs, etc.), offer blood magic healing to injured characters, and a pocket dimension item (essentially just an invisible backpack with a ton of space).

Wow this sounds like a really fun idea! Does this mod still work with the current version?

that's a fun idea to play with, there's a hug animation which could be used to force npcs to join your community (thralls) and hypnotism/charm could make for interesting dialogue to increase fear/respect/admiration. I probably won't work on that though as I'm currently playing other games, but might be fun to experiment with when I get back into this :)

This makes me wonder, what about vampires? Could probably have some cool interplay.

Hi, am gonna try this mod out. Wasn't expecting to find a mod quite like this, but I'm happy that there is, this is just up my alley. I for one, think the added items are best kept out of NPC hands, all that matters with mods like this imho is a steep and balanced effort/reward ratio. Thanks for making this mod ;)

10-4! I'll give that a go, thanks!

If you'd like specific items to appear on npcs, you can do a quick edit by hopping into the editor>(this mod)>edit equipment>(pick an item) and under "lootable from" you can select survivor and change "typical loot amount" to 1, this should have the equipment spawn on npcs in a new game and I think on any new npcs that arrive in an existing game. I'd recommend maybe reducing the # of projectiles or damage on the volley and spark weapons if you give them to npcs though, unless you want to get wrecked :sans:

Aaah, ok. Still, it is a rather neat mod.

Personally, I think that (seeing as this mod is all about this still) it would be cool to lean into it a bit - add the items as spawns, get NPCs using them as well.

It'd probably be (too?) hard for the player - maybe the items could be balanced to be less like "god items" and more like items that add a decent challenge for the player. I think it'd still be manageable, you'd just have to take on the NPCs wielding these items in more of a careful manner. Staying out of their line of sight, targeting their legs with the heart, etcetera.

Kind of a fun thought IMO. I'd a big fan of urban fantasy, it'd be pretty neat to see a mod that puts that kind of spin on the whole game world.

I think as far as crafting goes, npc's from other communities are scripted to cook and repair buildings only, I have also disabled loot spawns for all items in this mod so you shouldn't see any of it amongst npc communities (unless you trade it to them). The script that bothers characters is actually a script that exists in base game, it's tied to cooking/using human ingredients and activates when using recipes from this mod that include human flesh.

Can NPCs also do this stuff? That'd be rather interesting, maybe ones with certain personality traits (sociopath, amoral, immoral) aren't bothered by it and/or do it?
