@Turbotowns B41 took like, 5 years to be stable, don't count on it.

If the dev IS working on this, they'll have to account for ALL the new skills and their books. Also keep in mind, many devs probably would want to wait for an official release rather than try to modify the UNSTABLE branch.

Did you die? I've found that second characters are a bit glitchy. It works fine with your first character of a given save, but if you respawn(with mods), or create a second character, it starts getting weird like what you described.

I've been using this mod for a long time in Single and Multiplayer and there are some issues.
First is reading a book does not complete 2 levels of skill your about 0.15 off completing the second Level. It used to be fine not sure whats changed. The second is when reading Level 3, 4 and 5 books you keep getting kicked off the multiplayer server with a Type 9 error. You can log back in and keep reading and it will happen again 4-5 time before the book is completely read.

i am having an issue for my MP server, reading books does not give experience to the skill.. any fix or anyone have this issue before?

To ya'll complaining about too much EXP, just set your books to insanely rare or get a mod which makes it even more rare. That way every book will become a well paid reward for extra exploring as well will reduce the grind.

Indeed, some options would be nice, like maybe it only works TO a certain level(Theory can only take you so far after all)?

Is there any way to control how many levels i would get from book. For me 2 level by book is just too many

Update, I started a new game, and the first volumes are giving the second level properly now, I guess it glitches when you create a new character.

Well, never mind, I think the Better Literacy mod caused a conflict. Removed and now this one works perfectly :)

Anyone can confirm this still works ? I am testing it both in SP and MP and it does not seems to work for me.

Wait! I think I'm getting flat xp too! I'm getting both? Interesting... If you partially read a book, you can get both some free xp AND a multiplier...

Hmmm... For some reason vol 3 of mechanics is only give me a multiplier like vanilla, rather than flat xp. I did hop in and out of debug a few times, and cheated the first 4 levels of it... Did that mess with anything?

IF you add this mod into an active save, it has retroactive xp, if you've partially read a book, the moment you start reading it again(post mod), you IMMEDIATELY get all the exp needed to put you into the spot where'd you be if you just read the book with the mod and didn't earn any some other way. Unfortunately, any books that are already fully read CAN'T be "read again" to instantly gain the 2 levels you WOULD'VE gained if... y'know.

At least it's gradual, and not, "NOTHING until you finish the book then BOOM both levels at once!"
It's like the sims, you CAN read these books to get the skills, you can read them... well, NOT AT ALL(you'll still get the 1x default/whatever class bonus you get from your occupation), OR you could read the book, PARTIALLY. IT gives you flexibility. But def makes the game WAY easier if you just, y'know, READ THEM ALL. Should be mentioned, the INSANE amount of time it TAKES to READ the books...
I like to read the first books for tailoring and carpentry(so that I can get those basic recipes), then stop.

How about some mod options? You can set PER BOOK(separating the skills AND the volumes)...
Whether or not you gain exp, how fast/much, or maybe, alter the max multiplier for fully reading the book?

Like your mod...but makes the game to easy...
Would be recommend if 1 book give you only half Level of the skill. and the 1 1/2 you need to craft etc. But both lvl for 1 exp Book is way to much

The mod works together with the literature mod mod without errors. This is exactly what I needed.

was seaching this for a while, i would recomend you put some kinda of tags to player can seach you mod more easy.

Just tested with two mods and now im gaining xp so I think one of my mods im using is breaking your mod

So far from testing the only skills that aren't giving XP are tailoring,cooking,farming,first aid, and the survival skills, but everything else is working fine. Maybe there is a mod conflict?

That's exactly what I ended up doing. I set this to 0.6 and have never had a problem since.

I think you can fix it by editing the mod file BookLearning_ISReadABook.lua . Find the --Fix rounding error for XP on last page part and under it increase the number in xpGained + 0.1 . I haven't had the chance to test it though.

Great mod, but often I'm left with a small fraction of XP needed after reading a book to finish the current skill level.

The use case demands it to be via Lua or sandbox, the latter being harder and the former already done. Server is not running mod options.

A better option might be to add support for ModOptions and add settings for toggling which skills can benefit from this mod?
