Sounds good :) Yeah, it seems morale boosts dont work on them. I currently have 2 undead groups kind of stranded until I can get my helicopter up and running to extract them, so they are just hanging out dismantling the map and creating little pill boxes, trenches, etc. I can confirm meds work on them still though, so my combat undead are always high on something in combat, so far Go Juice is a good one for my elites, when they start getting addicted or problematic, "Refresh" them. We need a commander Undead. I so far have 3 necros, 2 death knights, 2 summoners, and havent seen a blackguard, but I am holding out hope. I like that the "Observed Undead" is gone for now.
Netzach Sloth  [author] Sep 6, 2021 @ 9:33pm
I might replace Shadow Strike with Move Out. Most of the Commander abilities don't work on undead (auras) or are pointless on undead (hold position), but move out works on them, and is kinda useful.

Looks like undead got fixed in RWoM its good over all, though my undead army now needs a commander to march around on the battle field.

Hey there :D
Is it possible for you to update some classes? Many feels way to weak, and other are bugged, there you cant add points to a skill because the symbol from the first improvment left. The second and third ones are there.
And ich think the game is really heavy ranged based combat. So we need classed for that :D
Greetings from Germany :)

well the warhammer mod that adds chaos magic does just that with one of the paths, and then you also got the cults mod that summons varies types of other worldly creatures.
Lord Archadeas Aug 28, 2021 @ 10:02am
Thats from Kures. I mean Undead being a state of a pawn that doesnt directly affect them, besides hunger, and some small things, but have branches, including "Mindless" undead, that are more how they are now, then we can also have Liches, ghouls, wights, even wraiths. And the ability to summon/become/create these would make things even more interesting. I would love to see more demonic summons, and plannar beings.
Nightmare-Nexus Aug 28, 2021 @ 9:54am
but it also might be a part of the Kures pack expansion.
Nightmare-Nexus Aug 28, 2021 @ 9:53am
or. there is a new class called the duskbringer that was added to RWOM that has a mixture of light and dark abilities aswell
Nightmare-Nexus Aug 28, 2021 @ 9:52am
could use the death knight heal if you wanted a heal that would maybe fit the theme
Netzach Sloth  [author] Aug 28, 2021 @ 6:22am
That would be pretty cool if they acted like summoned animals that can work, instead of like regular pawns.
Lord Archadeas Aug 28, 2021 @ 2:19am
It will be nice when undead are fixed. I am hoping undead get split off and become their own thing, with summoned undead being mindless and potentially other undead for things like wights, ghouls, liches, etc.
Lord Archadeas Aug 27, 2021 @ 3:05pm
Honestly, heal should be more akin to harm, but I dont know if they have that. Maybe the overwhelm from paladins? Blinding is a thing for Blackguards, might be better than shield for them.
Lord Archadeas Aug 27, 2021 @ 3:02pm
Thats not a problem, I have the "Room of Perfect Persuasion" for those unfortunate to rouse the Ire of my murder cult... I mean, my friendly group who definitely not evil. Undead? What undead, thats just frank in the back room, he is just meditating, the screams you hear are only the wind in this oddly large stone building. But all jokes aside, having them be uniform will make my overly zealous guys very happy.
Netzach Sloth  [author] Aug 27, 2021 @ 6:01am
Fog of Torment does make a lot more sense than Blink.

They're at:
Mage: Shadow, Shield, Bestow Might, Raise Undead, Fog of Torment, Dominate
Fighter: Shroud, Wave of Fear, Spite, Shadow Strike, Nightshade, Veil of Shadows

Blackguards are also supposed to get a heal ability, but I'm not sure what to replace with one; maybe Shield? They'd still have Shield Other from scrolls. But in the same sense, they can still get heal from scrolls as it is, they just can't level it up. I'll probably leave it as is.

I also added a patch to the undead trait if Ideology is installed, undeads will change to your ideoligion on basically a first conversion attempt now. Only issue I see with this is, if you have someone in another ideoligion in your group, then the undeads might be flip flopping around.
Lord Archadeas Aug 26, 2021 @ 11:58pm
Undead animals make good shock troops, but raised soldiers are better, it depends on how early game it is and how much get converted. I think blink should go for Fog of Torment. Blackguards are summoners of fiendish servants they use as disposable pawns. Whether its little demons or undead, they are the shield for them. Their big thing is their aura of evil/fear and their poisons, so most of their magic is best for manipulation as they slowly walk into a chaotic battle field to hunt the weak and confused. I am hoping undead just lose ideology all together, but time will tell.
Netzach Sloth  [author] Aug 26, 2021 @ 12:58pm
Not the craft ones, I meant cantrips and field training.
Netzach Sloth  [author] Aug 26, 2021 @ 12:55pm
I think I'm gonna remove Shield, Blink, and Shadow Strike, and replace them with Wander Craft, Wayfarer Craft, and Raise Undead.

The Craft ones fit the whole "any means necessary" line I pulled from the fan wiki, and raise undead works for the shock troops. I'll just have to add a note to the description that people need to convert their undead or enslave them before they die, if they don't want them to taint their ideology.
Netzach Sloth  [author] Aug 26, 2021 @ 12:38pm
I'm thinking Blink and Shield.
Netzach Sloth  [author] Aug 26, 2021 @ 12:37pm
Which mage abilities do you think would make sense to replace with Raise Undead and Fog of Torment?
Lord Archadeas Aug 26, 2021 @ 9:19am
Ah, I knew there was some stuff there. I had to make a new colony after a small mod compatibility issue. I made a new colony with a dread necro, been hunting good servants for an undead legion, filling my tombs, but I have been converting them before turning them, thinking the constant 100% happiness would slow things. I had remembered imprisoning undead before, but I dont know when it was, might have been already a prisoner before that(A lot of my undead were from accidental prison murders...) I dont think I have enslaved an undead yet, but I figured it would be possible since its a prison mechanic.
Netzach Sloth  [author] Aug 26, 2021 @ 9:11am
I found a way to do it; if you enslave them, kill them, then turn them to zombies, the zombie will be a slave. Same with prisoners, kill a prisoner, raise them, and the zombie will be considered a prisoner.
Lord Archadeas Aug 26, 2021 @ 8:59am
Sorry about the misinformation my friend, I guess it was somewhere near the early August they added to the code that undead cant be imprisoned. The above idea of converting before sacrifice is still valid though. Faster than recruiting if you want a soldier. I will ask around if they might be able to add in so player faction undead can be imprisoned for converting.
Lord Archadeas Aug 26, 2021 @ 8:16am
I seem to have the same issue, I know I had been doing it before hand, so I am confused. I just moved them to the bed, sent another undead to arrest, turns out you can no longer arrest undead(use to use them for prison labor). Dont know when that change happened. Kind of sad, even making them guilty doesn't allow them to be imprisoned.
Netzach Sloth  [author] Aug 26, 2021 @ 7:53am
Can you make undead into slaves? I tried to arrest one to put them in prison to start the enslaving and it didn't work. I thought you just couldn't arrest undead, but maybe I had a conflict with something else.
Lord Archadeas Aug 25, 2021 @ 7:28pm
Essentially you are binding their soul back to their body, this doesnt change who they are, just how they act. It doesnt mean you cant corrupt them. I will say however, converting them before killing them(ritual sacrifice) is easier. Undead slaves also work a lot better than normal slaves, simply because they are always happy and if they are killed, just raise them again :P
Netzach Sloth  [author] Aug 25, 2021 @ 6:38pm
That's a good point. I might add back in raise undead; it just means the Blackguard has to indoctrinate before killing and raising.
Lord Archadeas Aug 25, 2021 @ 4:19pm
For those having problems with ideology swap, sent them to prison(naked, so when a break happens, they dont stand a chance), convert them, then release them, or you can enslave them. My resident dread necromancer keeps 2 cells in her church back room to help "guide them". I tend to only keep the ones with 12+ Melee around(in a tomb next to the church) and dispel those undead not serving a purpose, during emergencies, she goes into the tomb and a legion leaves for battle. I also keep 2-3 undead around all the time, ones with cooking, planting/mining and always at least one fighter, their goal is just to keep producing while we sleep and as delay tactics.
I would love a Lich class.
Nightmare-Nexus Aug 25, 2021 @ 7:58am
yeah ill try it out.
Netzach Sloth  [author] Aug 25, 2021 @ 6:18am
Not quite the same, but you might want to try out the new hologram start from Save Our Ship 2.
Nightmare-Nexus Aug 25, 2021 @ 12:52am
*Dark Cleric*
Nightmare-Nexus Aug 25, 2021 @ 12:52am
oh okay. and a dead cleric class would be pretty cool to see. using necromancy and curses from kures magic expansion mod maybe. and a few other spells. I am waiting for a Ghost or Spirit type of class from Torrann. a class thats like a ghost. where you are a intangible being that cant harm or effect anybody or any object and have no needs. but you rely on a special resource maybe like soul power or soul essence i mean. so you have to possess a corpse to absorb the residue of what was left behind and the body of course slowly decays and eventually you have to possess a new body. possessing a live pawn could maybe be done but it would be very hard for your ghost to accomplish and would require a lot of soul essence. then special abilities and the master one being like a banshee wail or something. or maybe a class being like a ring wraith from LOTR or a wraith like celebrimbor from shadow of morder/war.
Netzach Sloth  [author] Aug 24, 2021 @ 4:35am
Also, you can use slaves as shock troops fine. They die easier, but they actually fit the class a little better. In 3.5 anyway, not sure about newer editions, Blackguards were always shit at necromancy anyway. Better to play as a Dread Necromancer (I have a class for that too) if you want to play a melee necromancer with undead shock troops.

Hmmm. I might make a Dark Cleric class. Clerics following dark gods can be pretty good necromancers.
Netzach Sloth  [author] Aug 24, 2021 @ 4:23am
The spell itself works fine, but it dominates your ideolgy.

Say you start with two people with a matching ideology, someone raids you, then you reanimate three of them as undead slaves; now your dominant ideology switches to the one the dead people had when they were alive.

As for shadow bolt or death bolt; maybe, I think Spite from death knight already fits that role though.

For changing it yourself; here's a version of the file with raise undead instead of shield; you can still shield, but you'll need to find the Shield Other scroll to learn it.

Dowload RimPy Mod manager, open it, find this mod in the list, right click it, choose "open folder," go into the Patches directory, open Custom_Class_Defs.xml and replace everything in the file with what's in the pastebin
Nightmare-Nexus Aug 23, 2021 @ 10:25pm
and also it should work fine with ideaology. i've used the spell with the normal necromancer class and it was acting fine
Nightmare-Nexus Aug 23, 2021 @ 10:18pm
I love your class mods and this one looks really cool. the idea of being a dark paladin is really cool. id also recommend maybe adding shadow bolt or death bolt as a mirror to a regular paladins normal abilities. raise undead when you can as well. i mean if they are supposed to be able to raise undead as shock troops, it makes a couple of their abilities useless.
Nightmare-Nexus Aug 23, 2021 @ 10:15pm
dang i was about to download this mod till i read that you removed the raise undead :(
Netzach Sloth  [author] Aug 22, 2021 @ 5:41pm
yeah, it'll do literally nothing if you don't have A Rimworld of Magic installed.
PremierVader Aug 22, 2021 @ 2:15pm
Does this mod have dependency on the original mod?
ChangoFeroz Aug 22, 2021 @ 4:57am
Nah, evil gods give their cleric healing spells too.
Netzach Sloth  [author] Aug 22, 2021 @ 4:48am
Think I should replace heal with bestow might?
