Hey there! First of all, this is a great mod! Thank you for the work.
I got a feature request:
Maybe allow all players to create a BFT-Marker, if the Server allows it with a specific addon option?
To make this more useful aswell, maybe use the Arma 3 ranking-system for the different military ranks to allow players with (e.g. Corporal) to also create a BFT, if the Server is set to the option.

Would be great to see this in future. :)

Hey, I noticed when a group leader is killed that they don't get the BFT in their ACE interactions on respawn. How would I get this to work on respawn? I've tried doing "[] call tca_bft_fnc_settings_add" but that doesn't work. I wonder if there's something missing? How can I fix that?

would you be able to add an option that it only works if you have a GPS device? otherwise its a bit unrealistic

Oh nice! I don't remember why I made DUI a requirement (icons probably), but ACE is mainly for the interact menu!

fun fact: the blufor tracking will still work without ace and dui mods.

only the single unit (solider) representation won't work. but the bluefor icon for whole squad will (and other squads)

please add an option "only with GPS device" so that it only works if you have one of the GPS devices

Oh, sorry! I haven't really been into Arma much recently so I haven't bothered updating this. My group stopped playing and I got busy. They all seem like reasonably doable things though, so if you were to have someone with some scripting skills you would be able to do it on your own! I linked the github and am happy to help out, just can't really test much at the moment.

This is already really awesome. I do have three requests:

1- A setting for turning the unit icon scaling on/off. Perhaps even a slider for how much it scales? When zoomed in relatively close the icons are massive lol.

2- A setting to change the size/scale and opacity of group icons.

3- An option to disable player names, so we just see the icons? Please =)

One more thing, would love the option to disable the switching of a person's colour to orange when incapacitated, we just enjoy not knowing :D

Yes!! I love what you've done in that regard; this is my favourite BFT mod.
Glad you like the idea, I'd looove to see it in your mod! It's a good incentive for people to stick together, and encourages people to form multiple groups rather than one big super group. (If you have unit markers disabled for other groups.)

Oh shit I like that! I made them zoom with the map because of this as well, so you can't just zoom out and find everyone but when you zoom into a group marker you see the individual units

This is fantastic!
The only thing I'd like to have is the ability to hide unit markers when they are a certain distance from the group leader or your own position, allowing members to get lost and cut-off. That would make this just like Shacktacs BFT!

Good one! It's been a bit since I've worked on this mod, but looking at the code it shouldn't be too difficult to add? Unfortunately it would add some restrictions to the custom markers, or at least they'd need to follow the naming convention Bohemia also uses, so marker classnames would have to start with b_, o_ or n_ since that's how we look up the marker side. "Fixing" this restriction would require a bit of a rework, which I'm not sure I have the time for.
Hopefully I can make some time soon though, I've been quite busy recently. If you hear nothing in a bit you can comment again to remind me x)

First of all this mod is really great. I've been testing out every BFT mod I know and this one is definitely the best so far. My unit has been using it since the release and has had no issues with it so far. :steamthumbsup:
If I may make a suggestion however it would be awesome to have the ability to add other markers (like self-made ones) for example via the CBA settings. You could potentially add a setting where you can list class names that are then added to the selection list in ace if the implementation allows it.

I'm hoping to add a module to do that; place it on a group and you can change colour and icon, but I have no idea how to do that just yet :p I'll look into it soon ish tho

The only other suggestion I MIGHT have (if it is possible) would be to allow AI groups to change their BFT colors as well, for example I could be Zeus, control the AI squad leader, and do it from his map and make his Icon purple or something, for mission making ideas. You already got AI groups to show up so if this is not possible I won't be upset lol.

Alright, the latest update adds a "Auto enable for" option under the BFT settings, if you set that to "All" it'll enable the BFT for all groups by default. (:

You can enable them for AI with the scripts in the description if that'd help you for now, but I haven't added a way to do it with zeus (yet), other than scripting.

I guessed it was an AI group problem lol. There is no setting for that but if you could add a CBA setting for it I would love it! My idea is I want my players to still see where AI groups are during zeus ops just for immersions sake and making a battlefield feel much larger than it may be. Like I could control an AI squad and change their marker color if they were a vip or special unit or anything really. The mission/objective possibilities of your mod being used with AI groups is pretty endless.

Oh right! By default TCA should only mark player groups, if you want it to mark AI groups you'll have to enable it for them wth `this setVariable ["BFT_groupMarker_visible", true];`, that might be it. I may have added a setting for that (to automatically mark AI groups too), but I'm not sure tbh. I could do that if you'd like?

Yeah its a bit odd, for a better explanation here is an example. I have a blue marker over my squad added by Ace, when I turn this mod's marker on and color it lets say yellow, I will have a blue ace marker over me, which is overlapped with the yellow marker from this mod. If I turn off ace BFT I only get the yellow marker, but all markers for other squads and AI squads will be gone. I have not tested this in multiplayer yet to see if markers will appear/dispensary for other player squads yet.

Wait what? That's odd. This should not affect ACE at all, or the other way around. I've developed it with ace loaded the whole time. I can't really think of what the problem could be tbh.
With default settings, TCA's marker will lag behind a bit, our intention was to not have a laser accurate marker, but still give a commander a decent idea of where a certain squad is. This can be tweaked with the settings though.

How does this work with Ace? I am getting this bug where there is one BFT marker for this mod, and another for Ace's BFT and they overlap or lag behind one another as the group move. When I turn off Ace BFT it also turns it off for this mod.

Thanks Drod! I think I'd rather you don't? I'm pretty sure steam doesn't allow it either.

Can I ask why you want to reupload? Wouldn't it be easier to have your people subscribed to this? That way they'll get future updates too, I'm still planning on adding features and more will come as I think of them or they are suggested!
