Cool Map, uttelr yuseless if you have any type of mod installed.
Gronk Oct 6, 2022 @ 1:41am
This map does work without problems after the update, but A LOT of mods are broken and might break loading into this map, if you only use a select few mods that all are updated this map loads without any issues. Then also VANILLA without mods is no problems either of course.

Thanks for letting me know MichuOh and 我叫磁力棒. I'm not in a position to go back and repair it, but will put a warning in the description so people are aware.

Same here... cant load the map after update. RIP:steamsad:

Thanks Hunterself50, I enjoyed creating it. I haven't made any maps in a while, but haven't given up on CS either, will hopefully be back into it soon.

Hi Gruntbuggly. Thanks for your comment. Initially I actually considered the railway line coming down from the harbours, gave up in that one quite early on, was hard enough to get the roads down. The underground power nodes are the vertical aesthetic structures off the vanilla dam, it's a trick that Bringer Of Fire used.

This map is awesome. Even from a design standpoint. For my own use - and this is something that really doesn't affect the playability - or is even really necessary for any purpose other than my own Compulsive Disorder of Obsessiveness (CDO) - I did some research into railways and the maximum allowable slope for safety, and have come to the conclusion it's around 2%. Using the Network Multitool, I edited my own copy of the map to adjust the tracks so they don't exceed that amount. In places where necessary, I added spirals, loops, and on the main map, I adjusted the rail junction slightly to incorporate that maximum.

The spirals and loops I added are all underground and outside of the 25 squares that are playable anyway, but -I- know they are there, and that's good enough for me.

Incidentally, what asset did you use to bring power down and under the lake extending from the power line into the centre grid square?

Thanks for creating this awesome map!

That's good news Robin (spelt right this time). I know how annoying it is when 'one' of the mods does that to you. Thanks for following up and sharing the fix.
Robin ⁧⁧ Bobin Sep 12, 2021 @ 2:52pm
Found the mod. "Rebuild It!" caused the issue.
Robin ⁧⁧ Bobin Sep 12, 2021 @ 6:16am
Think it's one of my mods, I turned off all mods and it worked so I guess I'll have to enable them one at a time to find which mod is causing the issue.

Hi Robyn. New one on me, I imagine the harbours, electricity and water networks will cost a bit of money to run, but I don't think they're overdone by any means and I was conscious of this when installing them. The fact that 2K people have sub'ed and no-one has said anything, leads me to think it's a bug in your system, but I'm no expert on CS game engine, sorry I can't help with this one.

When I start the map it removes my money to -72k

Hi Zetnus. They are dam walls, the way the game engine works, it's the top row that does all the work and holds all the water back. Quays don't hold water, it's the soil they retain behind them that does that, so can be problematic. Thanks for the kind feedback.
Zetnus Aug 8, 2021 @ 5:08pm
Really cool map. I'm definitely going to build a city on it at some point.
Already went in and fixed the interruptions in the 2nd plane path.
Are the walls dams, or are the actually quays?

Please don't hesitate on creating a Snowfall version of this map.

Really nice job for a very creative map!

Good to hear Jonghyun. As much as it's a fantasy map, it's also not completely outside the realms of possibility, so I think it works for that reason. Great that I was able to do it vanilla and non-81tiles, so gives the vanilla/potato players out there something different. Would love to see some screen shots once you get your city established.
Jonghyun90 Jul 28, 2021 @ 4:41pm
I've been playing this map for over a week and I have to say it's pretty awesome. I don't often choose fantasy maps as often can't find one I like or they need the 81 tile mod (no likey). I also like to choose a map and stick with it to make an absolute metropolis.
It's great fun, especially once the city has developed a bit and you can look down from the high wall and see it, sending the tourist busses on a route which takes them around the rim. I love the way the hills and mountains climb up the wall to the harbours. Can't wait to see it when I've almost finished building although that' will take me a while

I would definitely be interested in a snowfall version as well :)

Is this sort of like "The Rapture" from Bioshock :steamhappy:
Great Job btw!!!

Hi Zipper, I take part of my comment back. I played the map on a different system as a different user and the dam did indeed leak as you indicated. I fixed it as best I could, although the problem doesn't exist on my original computer, so I was kind of editing blind. But seems to be all good now though.
wellington6012  [author] Jul 19, 2021 @ 5:43pm
Hi Ziipper. The road/rail outside connections are a cheat, players can choose to fix them and make their game easier. The last segments of each one way on ramp/rail connecting into the main ring road/rail line are intentionally reversed to prevent the outside network connections. Get them flowing in the right direction, the connections work fine. There are a couple of points in the dam where water splashes over (looks like leaking) when you first start the game. Beyond this, I haven't had any actual leaks, the game mechanics for dams seem very robust. I can't replicate what your're suggesting other than whats built into the map design (all in the description). Can you please give me a little more specifics about what's not working.

exotheric, thought about sea level rise, but decided against that narrative and associated can of worms it would open. Also I think if all the ice melts, seas rise 10's of metres, but that wall if 850m in places.

Thanks NoirMoutton

undergrounf road and rail not connected correctly in spots , water leakage in north wall next to water pumps.
exothermic Jul 19, 2021 @ 4:33am
could be reclaimed land or protection against sea level rise ?!
