Unfortunately, I didn't find a solution for the Tokugawa rebel problem. But I noticed in your mod, the Oda start with an Ikko-Ikki rebellion with a leader called "Oda Tadayori" instead of a normal rebel army like in vanilla. Maybe if I could find this name, it would also lead to the right table in order to change the faction of the Tokugawa rebel army. Any idea where to find the name? The scripting.lua doesn't seem to contain it.
1) I haven't tried this but I suspect that each unit had an assigned number that has be be unique. Try copying this number from another units and add a '1' to the front of it.
There may also be a number that represents which general this unit belongs to. This number has to be the same for all the units under this general.
2) This is scripted in the campaigns\jap_shogun\scripting.lua
3) That node is part of the map, so you'd need to remake all the map files to add a new trade node and sea trade routes. Though the new Hokkaido region has iron for trade.
1. I managed to find Army_arrays in the Factions tab and was able to modify the unit sizes, but when I copy a unit to make starting armies larger, the game crashes. What do I need to do here? You mentioned its complicated.
2. Also, using your advice I managed to establish an alliance with friendly relations and even a trade agreement between Oda and Tokugawa, it works really well. But if I start as the Tokugawa, Oda gets a rebell army that doesn't do anything. Is there a way to remove or better change faction of that army?
3. The removal of the iron trade node in the north is intentional right? Which tables would I need to copy and paste to bring it back?
Make a clan a vassal of another clan
To make Tokugawa Oda's vassal you need to select the startpos, find the World/faction_array, find the Oda and Tokugawa factions (remember their faction numbers), open the Oda faction's diplomacy_manager, find the Tokugawa faction by searching for their faction number, and change the first neutral to patron.
Next open the Tokugawa faction's diplomacy_manager, find the Oda faction by searching for their faction number, and change the first neutral to protectorate.
As a clan can only be the vassal of one clan you need to change Imagawa's diplomacy so Tokugawa is no longer their vassal (change patron to neutral).
Unfortunately adding more units would involve making a new startpos. As I no longer have the startpos files for this mod I can't give them to you.
You might be able to make these changes to the startpos by opening it in the Pack File Manager but this is difficult.
Try disabling those mods and see if this fixes the problem.
Which faction are you trying to play as?
Are you using other mods?
That is impossible as the startpos controls the number of years and this mod won't work without the new startpos.
Here is a guide regarding how to chance the number of turns per year using the pack file manager:
Edit the campaign_calindar in the startpos. Change the 4 to 12 to have 12 turns per year.
Unfortunately I no longer have the raw data for this mod. This is why I couldn't make more factions playable. Though I have the data for the 23 and 97 region versions.
No because I don't have the files need to make a new startpos.
I did download drivers from invidia today, so maybe its connected somehow but im not gonna fuck around with 97 E.J. im more than happy with this one.
I just couldn't find how to remove subscriptions...Now I've found the page again, so unsubbing
I'm using darth mod which changes the DB table diplomatic_relations_attitudes. So you'll need to set these factions to -150 to make them hostile to each other. -85 will just make them unfriendly.
I'm unsure about event dates. Usually CA uses a range of dates so that this event won't always occur at the same time, so this may be why it happens earlier.
Ah I see, I did that, sorry I should have clarified. I made their relationship -85 but when I start a campaign two factions I made at war (Yashima Taira and Kagawa clans) still are green on the diplomacy screen (not in the negative relation #), they do fight it out but this little hiccup is a bit annoying lol.
Also would you know how to change event dates? I made the Genpei campaign 12tpy but some events (like the ascension of Antoku to the throne) happens at the 4tpy year rate like around 1176-1177 instead of 1180 when it should happen.
This should be my last inquiry, thanks for the help haha
You'd need to edit the diplomacy in the startpos to make these factions at war with each other. Also this will only work if your start a new campaign. You'll need to edit your save file if you want to change your save.
Would you know how to make two factions at war with each other in the startpos?
I thought I put the right numbers and such in the diplomacy manager, but on the diplomacy map ingame, they are still friendly green with each other despite being at war? This is for ROTS btw.
Thanks
I'm not sure.
@Dr.ISAAK!!!!!!!
No because they're minor factions who only have vanilla units.
Nm I got it now, thanks a bunch
For some reason in the startpos there's multiple entries for victory conditions, so you need to edit all of them.
Also changes to the startpos only show up in new games, they won't appear if you load a save file.
Subscribe, tick the mod, disable the rest, try running, if ok, restart shogun with ALL mods and try again.
