Probably one of the best class mods available here in the Workshop. She is incredibly well balanced at all levels, has great utility, glaring weaknesses and a playstyle that is semi-flexible. She feels exactly like a vanilla class.

As much as I am a raving Marvin fan, the Choir Hunter is without a doubt my #1 class mod and will always be included in my playthroughs. Great art, great design, great abilities and above all: Her stats supplement her playstyle perfectly without making her overpowered. She fits a niche, has some utility and setup, can be tweaked to fit into multiple parties, but really, REALLY suffers in others.

Her ONLY design weakness is that due to her high speed, it's incredibly difficult to make use of her "+300% damage to stunned" feature on Visceral attack. That is my only gripe, but it's still extremely satisfying when you do get it.

Cannot recommend this mod enough. It is a true masterpiece, in my opinion.

@TannerA as is I don't plan on touching her anymore, and I strictly wanted to make sure my mod was compatible with the base game without requiring any other mods to be installed.

@MizKai I'd prefer you didn't reuse my art assets to make a mod and do not give permission for it.

There is a walk animation but I optimized the mod and made it so the animation also uses the idle sprite sheet. She has no Heroic Sprite either, as she's an affliction only class.

I was particularly impressed by the Call Outward. The most unique mechanics of the ability! It's hard to imagine how much work it took to make it happen.

Thank you very much for your mod! One of the few classes from mods that I want to play the whole game with. I use it along with Knight of Cain (self-edited, otherwise the mod has not been updated for a long time) to get into the aesthetics of Bloodborne on PC :)

Can't say this has ever been an issue, they both share the ID number with Highwayman but everything still seems to function just fine with him. I think it may have been an issue in the past but was patched. If it does become an incompatibility issue for some reason, let me know and I'll throw an arbitrary number there.

I just noticed that her id in the file "choir_hunter.info.darkest" is set to 1. That might cause some incompatibility bugs, might it not? I'm no expert on modding DD though, so idk.

Imma be real man that's gonna be up to you to fix. All I did was fix a true/false variable in a completely unrelated document. You're gonna have to delete the old mod in your steam mod folders, redownload her, and start fresh.

i had this happen back when i first added those quirk lines to her, but its been years i cant remember for the life of me how i fixed it..

@MoonKanin i downloaded this mod a year or two ago and have always loved it. i copied the saw hunter mods quirk scripts over so the choir hunter gets the hunters illness quirk immunity to crimson curse, and just today for the first time in about a year i added some mods to my DD, and i think it caused an update to your mod that has broken some things. i have all her abilities locked in and cant deselect any, and her combat idle gets stuck on her static images. any ideas how to fix or why this happened? images here: https://imgur.com/a/LaJf8J2

That seems to have fixed it! Thanks a bunch! It was such a shame that that one move was a little finicky, because it's such a cool move and the animation work is exceptional.

Okay, did a bit more testing. When casting the skill from position 3 and not afflicted, the damage range was 2-8. Damage readout read "5-8 Weapon + Skill -75% selected skill" So the damage numbers wren't reversed, and the potential maximum damage was higher while the minimum stayed the same.

Did some more testing, and the same hero with the same weapon level (Polished Cane at 4-6 damage) will do "5-2" damage when casting A Call Beyond when not afflicted and in position 4. Hovering the mouse over the damage readout will show "5-8 Weapon + Skill". Just wanted to give more data in case it helped at all. Perhaps that -75% damage penalty when not in position 4 is still being applied somehow?

Hey, love the mod, but think I might have found a bug. A Call Beyond displays its damage range backwards, and seems doing less damage than it should. I cast it from rank 4 to avoid the penalty, and it shows as having a +25% damage modifier, and the +25% from being Insightful. The Polished Cane has a damage range of 4-6, but then it displays the damage as 7-4. Reversed numbers aside, that clearly isn't adding up right.

Absolutely love the mod, although I feel not having the Blood Rapture rune as a trinket was a missed opportunity.

I think you should definitely guarantee that all Choir Hunters spawn with the Old Blood skill unlocked.
You made a valid and sufficiently unique healer class that also looks good - a great achievement, worth adding to the playthrough; but there arent many such classes to go around. Which means that early game i want more healers to arrive in the stage coach with healing skills - all Choir Hunters, if possible. its annoying enough when a cataphract doesnt roll for either of her two

@REDLil4c If you take her stress reduction camp skills you can pretty much take her through multiple dungeons while afflicted.

I have one question... Did you "intend" or recommend her to be played as afflicted, or she gets some buffs when afflicted because she easily gets stressed? Kinda curious.

@Moth Vestal's heal doesn't remove status effects. The main purpose is a full group heal for a small number to sustain the party. Choir Bell is a super strong full party cure and removal from death's door so suddenly your party stacked up with bleed/poison don't die before you can heal them. Considering Reht did a bulk of my balancing and both of us know what we're doing, I'm not going to argue with that and the 30k people using her most likely agree.

Her AoE is a good way to lunge to the front line if you want to play her aggressively (like with her Serrated Cane and Augur). In addition AoE is a lot of damage because it's solid damage to 4 enemies. It's not an enemy finisher, it's an opener if you want to dance with her.

Your change suggestions are noted but will be ignored, because you clearly have no idea what you're talking about and have become acclimated to a bunch of classes with no drawbacks for balances.

I would have removed stress from aoe heal, made cane single instead of double target, changed visceral attack(Doesnt fit support) , changed a call beyond abilities, but then its just a new character. IMO either a healer should jump around with damaging skills and should be able to heal from any position, or stay static and dont have such abilities. Imagine you decide to jump up fromt, and you do good damage with it, but next turn your thin jester gets hit for 40 and are bleeding on deathdoor. you wanna heal him immediately, but just unable to.

Yeah, but donts arent always the issue, plus vestal just heals for more without stress. Whats the point of her "Aoe jump" from position 4 with damage? She is clearly not only a ranged support, and that part of her is lacking i feel, i can conjure a situation where you would need to go back with her, but why go up front? Maybe if her serrated cane would have been single target, instead of double (Because there are often situations where there is a unit+ corpse or 2-tile unit or just last unit and you are missing out on damage)

@Moth Her AoE heal is not weak in the slightest. It's a small bit of stress to remove the entire party from death's door as well as cure all DOTs. It's actually an EXTREMELY strong ability during bosses with lots of AoE attacks

If you're not using her Serrated Cane ability for any sort of mobility, either for moving her back after a skill that moves her forward when playing her aggressively, or getting shuffled in a surprise round you're probably missing a huge chunk of her kit. If you read her skills closely you'll notice a lot of them are meant to be used from the back.

I'm not sure what to tell you about her not healing from position 1/2 considering she's a back line support. Also not sure what to tell you about losing an offensive turn for a REALLY strong buff (that you can stack) considering that's what support does?

She is slightly inconvenient in some situations, and her aoe heal is super weak, and stresses team, why? Lets say you have rank 1 enemy left with 10 hp and 240% stun resist , what do you do then? Buff an ally? Then monster can have an extra attack on you.Her movement is wierd as well, and she cant even heal from position 1\2. I found her awkward at times when ive played her.

@Euanok. I really appreciate that and that means a lot. Sadly Executioner is on the shelf for a bit to tackle BR and other projects. I was having issues preparing his kit because the limitations of DD modding really put me in a rough place for mechanics I wanted. One day he'll debut though!
