Seems that there's at least one person who clearly cares enough to see it get updated, though, so I'll try and get to it over the weekend.
Sounds good, will do
Remind me next Monday or Tuesday once I'm back from vacation and I'll try and look through the qualities and such again. If you have any suggestions in particular, let me know.
To ask a quick question, though, what do you all think of the Ultra Secret Room pool in the new update for Repentance? I get what they're going for, all red items, but there's definitely a lot of items in there that just seem quite lame like Anemic or Angry Fly or what have you.
- Rebalanced the quality value of several items
- Ultra Secret Rooms now have an item pool unique to them instead of using the Angel room pool
- Replaced the Mitre with Hallowed Ground in the Greed mode Angel room pool
- Updated the Greed mode Secret Room and Curse Room pools to have actual items instead of only Cube of Meat
- Tammy's Head can now be found in the treasure room pool
There might be more, that's just what a quick ctrl+f caught.
I just can't get any changes to actually apply, even when all mods related to item pool editing are turned off
I don't personally like it being in the Devil Pool as much, since I'm not as fond of it being there mechanically. It's an item with both a prevalent upside but also a prevalent downside, but the upside is also more utility-based and much more situationally good rather than the instant benefit that the Devil pool typically has. To me, that fits significantly more with what the Curse Room's doing rather than the Devil Room.
But on the other hand, I've talked with a few people that both feel fairly strongly about A Pound of Flesh being introduced back into the Devil Room in addition to the Curse and Demon Beggar pools, and if enough other people want it, I can add it back into the Devil pool anyway.
Hardcoded item drops in general like Little CHAD from the CHAD boss, the Cube of Meat/Ball of Bandages from Harbingers, Blood Bag from Blood Donation Machines, and A Dollar from Slot Machines are also untouched by the mod because there is no way to touch them through XMLs to begin with.
as for losing bone hearts, the bone hears spawn on top of your soul hearts, so you can sacrifice them then and there.
There's still a few items that wouldn't have their qualities make sense even with that explanation, such as Book of Revelations only being in quality 3 and The Wiz being anywhere above quality 0, but it explains most of the otherwise questionable quality levels.
Wooden Nickel will normally get you about 7-8 coins per floor. That's not worth as much as "an item per floor", that's barely worth a grab bag or consumable per floor. It's good for Keeper for obvious reasons, but it's really subpar for other characters. Not as bad as items like The Poop or Lemon Mishap, but still nowhere near good.
map view provides diminishing returns after you get one, as you can divine almost all the info you need from one of them with just some game knowledge.
-wooden nickel should be bumped to tier 2. it can provide 1 item every 2-3 floors, and that makes it better than a decent amount of quality 1 items.
-brittle bones is great, 2 extra tears ignoring the tears cap helps a lot, don't understand the quality reduction.
-wasn't proptosis buffed in repentence? with it's damage going from 2x to 3x?
-does this affect tainted cain?
